Reg is the only son of a minor Rin Caadian noble. He grew up rich and spoiled, and it shows. Many suspect his parents sent him to the academy, just so they wouldn’t have to deal with him, and most senior members of the Academy staff agree, that if Reg had not had the inate magical abilities that allowed him to become wyn, he probably never would have bonded as Roug.

Reg is a born beaurocrat. He spends a goodly amount of his time memorizing the ‘rule books’ and can quote most of them chapter and verse (and does so, annoyingly often). He has no imagination or ability to compromise. He was a mediocre student at best, and has little personality to speak of.

If things start falling outside his defined parameters, he often has a hard time dealing with them. Adaptability is not a strong suit. He is a worrier, and is always on the look out for situations that might ‘tarnish his spotless record’

He, of course, doesn’t realize any of his faults. As far as he’s concerned, he’s earmarked for greatness. It will only be a matter of time before he moves up through the ranks. The Roug need a little discipline, they are getting altogether far too lax... and he (and his vast magical talents) are just the ones to keep them in line! General Alimaine... he likes the sound of that...

The fact that he’s just a private, and nobody likes him is immaterial. They’re just jealous, because they can tell he’s got potential.

It took him a little longer then most to graduate (7 years), but rather then seeing that as a sign of deficiency on his part, he views it as giving him more ‘seniority’. And is always willing to ‘pull rank’ should it come up. =)

Reg is married to a woman named Berisanth, although no one at the Academy has ever met her (though he talks about her often). She lives in Rin Caad, and they exchange letters (on an evenly regulated schedule), though he does not visit all that often... which is probably a good thing for both of them. (and even money at the Academy says they sleep in seperate beds, even when he does) She has rich parents, and he’s secretly hoping to inherit money from them some day... so does his best to keep her molified. His wife views the marriage in the same manner. Neither of them really ‘care’ for the other one. A marriage of convenience.

Telethesia - the ability to perceive stimuli occuring outside of ones normal range. At its most basic level, this talent might be mistaken simply for someone with extremely good hearing/sight/smell. With practice one can sense various stimuli (be it vision, hearing, or smell) over vast distances, given an unimpeded view. Vision is always the easiest, both hearing and smell are more difficult, since both require filtering out a great deal of superfluous stimuli to focus on the one that is desired. Touch is the hardest to master of all, since being able to feel an item without physical contact is extremly difficult.

Attempting to focus on more then one sense at a time is an even greater challenge.

A true master of this talent would not even require a unobstructed path, and could feel items in a locked box, or behind a door; could see what was going on in a room far away, or listen to what was said in that same room. All at once, as if they were standing right there. Other then basic use, this talent requires a great deal of concentration, and often the user loses contact with what’s going on around him or her while they do so. As well, external introduction of sudden extremes in the sense being used, could overload the wyn, before they can filter it out-Results may vary. =)

[At Reg’s current skill level, he’s more or less a fancy pair of binoculars... and can maybe, with alot of concentration, hear a conversation that’s occuring ‘just over there’ if there’s not alot of other background noise]
