talent: Moonrise can call a virtual full moon into the night sky, an orb of light approximately the size of the actual moon, and which provides light for night-vision to up to twenty creatures of his choice.  The virtual moon will illuminate the landscape just as a real full moon might.  Anyone unaffected by this power will not be able to see the "moon", nor will they enjoy the benefits of the "vision" it provides.

history & personality: Moonrise is only recently come to the Academy and not much is known about the quiet colt (whose wildborn name is a full, white moon rising in the twilight from the horizon).  He mostly keeps to himself, though is making a concerted effort to learn human speech, under the tutelage of both Piper and Guardian, who have decided to instruct him in the ways of an Academy Roug.

From what they can gather, Moonrise quietly left his herd (lead by the stallion Shadowstalker, his grandsire & Rainshadow's sire) of his own accord, not because of any formal dispute but because he felt, after a sudden epiphany, that it was "right" somehow and his "destiny" to serve the Light as a Roug.  Piper believes that Moonrise believes the Light spoke to him directly, asking him to leave his herd and come to the Academy.

Moonrise still speaks mostly in images and spends most of his time reflecting quietly in the unBondeds Meadow.  The other unBondeds are just now beginning to try to get to know him better.  For the most part he seems to have a very gentle, unassuming and observant nature.

He has had some problems adjusting in his academic classes but has shown great promise in the fighting arena, and is seemingly a very poised, quick, and practiced fighter.
