Darkblaze was a rogue wildborn who joined the Academy out of spite for his people.
He never Bonded, finding it impossible to hide his distaste for the students at the Academy.
He did, however, get along quite well with the Elders and was a supreme strategist and
was therefore allowed to breed. His talent's exact nature was unknown, but he is said
to have "made the very sky roil with anger".

Meadowbloom was a sweet and patient mare, as "tame" as Darkblaze was wild. Their mating
surprised many. Meadowbloom's sire, Noble, was one of the first Academy unicorns and a
respected Elder at the time. Her dam, Ladybird, was Noble's second mate; his first mate,
Rollick, died in battle during the Dark Time. Ladybird was a young mare, but fiesty all
 the same. No record can be found of her talent, however.
