When a young Balthazar first arrived in Derico in the year 106 ADT, he fell witness to a large, chocolate brown Rin dog standing over an injured man. The man turned out to be Wyn Lt. Raylin and the nameless dog refused to let any near him until Privates Janis and Juniper were summoned.

The Rin dog had always been fascinated with the Roug at the Derico Chapter House and seemed especially fond of children and unicorns, but it was obvious that he was drawn most to mage-talents. Though considered homeless, the amiable canine could always find a warm, safe place to sleep and never lacked enough food or a proper grooming.

Unusually intelligent, the Rin dog diligently followed Balthazar to the Academy in Pallahade where his care fell to the new Wyn aspirant and was thus given a name: Chappy.

Throughout the years, Chappy has learned that he is richly rewarded when able to keep the chianta from Heidi's kitchens... but he also learned that when a pack of the sneaky creatures are about, it is best to howl rather than attempt to stop them on his own!

This female was born second in Smokey's first litter.
Mischievous and mouthy, she likes to 'take on' opponents bigger than she, chittering
and hopping about, fur fluffed and back arched. She has also taken up the bad habit of  cleaning
her teeth on Illaria's toes while she sleeps... the best early morning alarm the student has ever had.

On the evening of the Lightning Class' Graduation Day, the newly Bonded Illaria presented the pup
to Balthazar for adoption. The young man decided that the perfect name for his new companion was Rogue.
