Wood Turtles (Threatened Species!)

Wood Turtles are an officially threatened species here in New Jersey. They are teriffic animals. While they are rightfully threatened, I know of many areas where they thrive, and I have even seen them on the Delaware River itself. They are a heavily-built species with a sculplted shell, orange-red coloration under the legs (earning them the nickname "redlegs" in many areas). They are relatively terrestrial, but fair fine in the water, which is quite surprising because of there heavy build. They eat a host of foods, vegetables (frequently found near or in skunk cabbage), worms (a favorite), minnows, even ticks. The males can be told from the females as the males plastron is heavily concaved, the females is straight bottomed. Pictures are on the way, I have some good ones.
