Located in the East Martello Museum, this horse-drawn hearse belonged to the old funeral home that housed Count Von Cosel's bride (for more information, PLEASE email me...I would be very glad to tell you). I just thought it looked cool. I almost wish I would have had someone take my picture beside it, but oh well...it was more important that I get the next picture taken...

What is the East Martello Museum? - The museum was named because it was the eastern of the two french martello style forts on the island. The museum consits of an outer brick ring that formerly housed cannons and prisons (now it holds attractions such as this, my next picture, a cuban raft including the shoes of the men who 'disappeared' before they arrived, and a small art gallery). Inside the ring is the heart of the fortress. It is a three story stone tower with an iron spiral staircase ascending through the center. On top of the tower a cupped deck, with swivel mounts for cannons, and murder holes on each side in case of a direct assault. Now however, the cannons have been removed, the holes have been covered with grates, and scrap metal turned into art lies on all floors.
