Why Would A Loving God send Anyone To Hell?

God's Love, Deeper Than We Could Ever Know

In an attempt to better understand God and His ways, one frequently asked question concerns the matter of Hell:

"Why would a kind and loving God, who cares so deeply for His children, condemn them to Hell?"

Well, firstly, God does not prefer for a single person to have to suffer Hell and the torments there. We are His beloved children; He sculpted each of us as an artist molds his/her masterpiece, with the utmost care and pride. The last thing that artist would ever desire to do is discard the work of art into the nearest refuse bin; He or she would much rather display it for all to see. Just the same is God's committment to people, He wishes for each and every one of us to be with Him in Heaven; and He has never stopped trying to get through to every one of us, His creations. In the book of Ezekiel, God's plea to all of mankind is recorded:

"Say to them.
'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather
that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die?' "
(Ezekiel 33:11)

As promulgated, God does not enjoy the fact that His own creations must be condemned to an eternity in Hell; It tears Him apart, as would a child's death utterly destroy the father. God created a way for all of us to avoid Hell, and that is through His son, Jesus Christ. God gave all of humanity a free-will, however, so it is up to each of us to accept His son, the Only Way to God. He can do no more for us than to plead with us, and continually do things, anything, to try to reach us. He has done the greatest and most difficult part for us, all that is left is for us to submit to Him.

Secondly, we are all sinners; that is a given. God is the opposite, He is perfection. Being perfect, He cannot bear sin, in any form, in His presence. Hell, in a way, is not so much a punishment as it is a place for those who did not choose God. All who chose to oppose God or did not believe in His Son go to the alternative, because one whom hated/denied God would surely not want to spend eternity with Him. Heaven is for those who choose to be there, who choose to spend eternity with God; Hell is for those who don't.
