Writers everywhere! Are you suffering from the evil, evil thing called Writer's Block? Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do, but wait until it wears off or until you find some kind of inspiration. Right now, my inspiration is the delightful drink called "Bubble Tea." It is an Asian Craze really, but its popularity is growing in the United States. "Bubble Tea" is a drink with the mixture of milk and tea though many think the most enjoyable part is the "bubbles" that are on the bottom of the drink. These "bubbles"--small dark balls called tapioca (I spelled it right hopefully)--have no actual taste though it is edible. Tapioca is smooth on the outside and very, very chewy in the inside. For those who live in Washington, USA and drives frequently on Highway 99 then you're in luck. The best Bubble Tea place, in my own opinion, is Yunnie Coffee/Tea House. It is across from Burlington Coat Factory and Safeway (around Safeway is Half Price Books and several Asian Restaurants) on Exit 176. I do not remember what street it is on so remind me to check for those who want to check the place out. Bubble Tea comes in an assortment of flavors; my favorite so far is the coffee flavor. Bubble Tea is also called "Imperial Tea," and "Milk Tea." Try it out.
Anyways, that was just for sharing. On to the real topic, I'm working on my three series at the moment. They might be posted somewhere; check the updates link for more information. Of course, I am also gathering stories from other people at the moment so I am actually working on uploading the literary works than actually working on the website's graphics for a while.
What are my series? I am currently writing Perfect Blood, but since it is a complicated storyline I am only working on developing the characters before the actual storyline takes place. In the meantime, I am revising Decay of Serenity and improving Earth's Egg (both series are on separate timelines--Decay of Serenity is set in the modern time, Perfect Blood is several hundred years ahead and Earth's Egg is set in a whole different galaxy altogether).
Still reading? If you want to know more about these three series including some spoilers then keep reading. If you do not want to know more, get out of here and go to Picking Topics. If you are not interested at all the read the Author Pick section for stories that are outstanding. For those who are interested, thank you for your attention. I am asking for help on my series because I fear flamers. I know I should write how I feel like, but I find that a lot of fanfiction including original fanfiction are receiving many flames. To tell the truth, if anyone send any flames (or complains about the stories on my website without being the slightest bit polite) I will post them on the website and have them ridiculed. However, this website is actually a year long project for my school. For my project to be a success (and for me to graduate) I need positive results and comments so just for this time limit, I will actually try to write my stories without offending any ethnic background, religion, sexuality and gender. None of the material I write is supposed to be offending, but some might read them and take it the wrong way. Therefore, I hope to receive some response from readers about my stories: what is good or bad, what seems understandable or confusing, is there too much information or less...etc. As for people who are submitting art or fanfiction, do not worry because you will not go through the treatment my series are going through, but I do not think my school would approve any "bumping and grinding" material yet. After this project is over, I will still keep this website up and relieve most of the restrictions imposed on it.
Ok, now, I will try to limit to only talking about one series per newsletter. Right now is Perfect Blood since in my last website this series seemed more popular than the other two. According to the little synopsis I put for the series, Perfect Blood is about demons and angels and most mystical creatures. Remember, this is not against any religion. There was a girl at my school who is a dedicated Christian and she said watching Buffy is like watching Satan so...do not know if that is true so I add this on to say and remind everyone that my written material is not to offend anyone. Now, Perfect Blood is a little like Buffy, but more angst and not the usual "Demon Enemy of the Week" plot. It focuses more on the Heaven and Hell side and not every demon they met is incredibly evil. Now, from what I learned from Angel Sanctuary (a manga by Yuki Kaori and is now a three-part OVA), Heaven has several layers as well as Hell. "Hell" does not really exist in my series. There are many colonies of mixed species underground...Omni-Hunters, the organization that dispatches demon hunters, is known to inhabit the deepest layer.
Also, there are three classes of demons. The third-world class consist of the weakest demons though still typically stronger than the average person. They are usually the henchmen of the more powerful types. Second-world demons are not-so-powerful and are more human-like. First-world demons and adept demons are the ones all hunters should look out for. They are incredibly powerful or, for lack of power, incredibly cunning and uses people to their advantage. Adepts, however, are known to work by themselves and are very, very deadly. Most adepts are actually halfbreeds or have blood from other types of species. The main characters' (Yuusuke and Tooya) parents are halfbreeds; both of them contain demonic blood. Their heritage consist of blood from other species; later mentioned in the series Seishi tells Yuusuke about their mother's line, which has werewolf, several types of fairies, etc. This is a great advantage. Most children receive their abilities from their parents, who received their powers from their parents and so on. This is called "Perfect Blood." A Perfect Blood is one who contains blood from almost all of the existing and some extinct demon species. Trying to make a PB is difficult because each species have their own specific tastes in a mate; for example, fairies usually go for brave, fair-haired and lithe mates. They usually have mates that can shapeshift, which is an ability not easy to control. Most who try to learn to shapeshift often die from the amount of energy needed for the feat or transform halfway, get stuck, then found by some less understanding people and get killed.
This is actually a response to my friend in school who asked why I named this series Perfect Blood. Any other questions? No? Then I have one. Is this all too confusing? Next newsletter will not mention any of my series. There will other topics I want to discuss.
