What I Learned as I Grew Up
Simple words from me to you.
This is what I've learned:
Life is archaeology in motion,
Finding casts of seraph's wings as a child
In ancient grass beneath the sandbox.
Life is not without its honor,
Although the most crooked
Get by with lies,
Making light of their doings
As the spotlight turns a blind eye.
Life is short,
The wind blowing each day to
The shade of utter night.
We may speak together,
Quiet at first,
Fingers touching, simple smiles;
But soon the language of humanity fades
And Life is gone,
Beyond the Rim of mortality
Into the monotony
Of effortless Eternity.
