Remember

I remember a time when feeling nothing ment feeling good.
A time when experiencing pain of the flesh
Was a way of expressing freedom.
When every thought that flashed in my mind was so dark
That it sucked the brilliance from the stars.
Consuming me thought by thought,
Emotion by emotion till I exist no more.
An empty shadow of the person I used to be.
