ABANDONED

I reach out to God.
He does not hear my cries.
My tears of sorrow falling upon the land.
I hold out my hand
Extended from my pain,
Enclosing my bleeding heart.
It beats for you my love,
Through all this pain you’ve caused.
I gaze into the heavens,
Fastened to the ground.
Held back by fear.
Longing for my chains to be cut,
For my spirit to be free.
Away from all this pain and anguish.
Though pray as I may,
My words go unheard,
Falling on ears of the deaf.
And I am left behind
Abandoned by all I’ve loved.
