AUTUMN '03

The Runs have been defunct all summer and will never be together again. However, everybody is still friends. it's just that... the runs are dead. long live the runs! Check out Johnny's band "FRUIT SALAD" thrash-hardcore (John - Drums, Matt [ex HSFU and the runs] - vocals, and MAX R [ex HSFU and hott pink headache and i'm not sure what else] - guitar). And Johnny's starting a rock and roll band with MIKE and MAX R and IAN or maybe JACK or maybe PAT or BRIAN?

The Runs are back in action. John Max and Louis are tearing it up again! well, not quite yet. but it's official. WE'RE BACK.
John's band with the other fellas is still happening, we're still finalizing our plans regarding a bass player/place to practice. okay. ta ta for now. -johnny.

The runs renunion will hopefully be starring the following bands: Disaster Strikes, As Long As We're All Living..., How They Light Cigarettes In Prison, The Runs, The Contrary, The American Standard. John's new bands consolidated sort of into one band. John - drums; louis - bass; max R - guitar; matt H - singing.

John has started a new band. John - Vocals, Guitar; Max R - Bass (vocals?); Louis (ex-runs) - Drums (vocals?). Randi couldnt play cus ... her arms turned into potatoes.

John is also going to be playing drums for a band fronted by Lily - Guitar, Vocals (ex-pickups); Matt H - vocals (ex-runs); and Samir - Bass (ex-likewise from stoughton).

The runs will be releasing a full length "best of" cd and might play some reunion shows soon. yay.

Fall/Winter 02

Max is starting a band... i think. i'll post more info when i hear about it. John is starting a band over christmas vacation with Max R (ex-High School Fuck Ups) and Randi (ex-Runs, you retard!). Keep you're eyes peeled, I'll post more info as soon as I can.

The Runs had their 'last show' today, Under the lineup of Max - Bass, vocals; John - Guitar, vocals; Louis - Drums. An extra big thank you to Louis for filling in on drums all those times, especially for the last show.

I went to buy a speaker cable at mars and I met this kid named brian, who will be the next new drummer. Until he starts, our drummer will be my bulldog, Buddy Botox. Click here for more info. Well, just checking in. Nothing really has happened and we still need a drummer. We had to kick out Justin before we even got him to a practice cus he kept ditching/not showing up on time for plans. Buy our CD!!

Justin broke his arm, which sucks. It will be fixed late august/early september. Not so bad... Also, prosthetic records has been taken down because there is already a real label called prosthetic records and a diseased old man told me once never to make that label with that such name. Ben Larden, not to be confused...

La La La, oh yeah, Justin is now the new drummer. Yay! Fuck, the runs need to sell their PA and a guitar and a bass so they can have a PA to gig/practice with! FUCK! we need HELP!!!! John did a somewhat large make-over for the site. Also, the name change will be really soon. The site adress will stay the same, however. The Emo Sucks EP will still be The Runs/The Pickups, but the upcoming full length will be with the new band name. Thanks

Jack's departure from the runs finally actually happened. After a long period of tolerance, Max finally kicked him out.

If jack definately doesn't work, Louis from The Pickups will fill in for a while... So yeah we might change our name in the near future... Today The Pickups and The Runs recorded a 12 track split EP in Louis' basement, entitled "EMO SUCKS". Songs include: Jewish Sunday School Fuck You (Pickups), Emo Sucks (Pickups), Mr. Cucumber (Runs), Run (Runs), and a Bonus track entitled "Get off my lawn" by Old Man's Diaper. The EP will probly be available at shows and such.

The Runs played a show today with The Pickups and Strangled With a Halo in Dorchester. It was a private birthday party for a girl named Melissa and little Max. Happy birthday and such. It was a good show, probly our last one with jack.

Yet again the Runs play a private party-show without Jack... It looks like we will be replacing Jack soon so if you'd like to drum for us, give John an email. Anyway, we played for Lily's sister's gradutation party in Mission Hill. Umm... No Color House changed their name again to The Pickups.

Lilly from NO COLOR HOUSE landed us a gig at a girl's birthday party. The girl came to the other concert and I guess she somehow agreed to let us play. We borrowed Liam from STRANGLED WITH A HALO and Louis from NCH to play drums because Jack had a "prior engagement." It was fun, and all 6 of our misfits covers went fairly well, but I guess it's safe to say we sounded absolutely AWFUL. Band pracices are pending...

The Runs played today at a block party show in Jamaica Plain... Thanks to everybody who came to see us and the other bands! Sorry we didn't give out much information on the show... Better luck next time. Also, the show was Jack's debut as the new drummer for the Runs! Yay.

After a deep slumber, I woke up and the first thing that came to mind was the realization that the Runs have been on a terribly long hiatus. Since the rock show and Matt's departure, almost nothing has happened with the band, exept for some new songs I've been writing that I haven't had the chance to show anyone. Hopefully by the end of next week things will be back on track. It would be such a sad way to slowly die out, especially with only with 4 complete original songs. -John

We will from this point forward suck a little bit more. However, we're still going on with max and john singing (yay!). Also, in the history section, theres a little bit about our side-projects. Don't worry! Even if the Runs fall apart, there will still be three other great bands with the same kids in them! HA

Today The Runs played at the school rock show and kicked some ass! Lots of people who we thought wouldn't like us had a great time and everybody told us we were one of the best sets at the show! Thanks to Roxanna, Mr. J, Mr. Smith, and JP even though you weren't there you BASTARD! just kidding. thanx to everybody that complimented us.

Today The Runs went to practice in Chauncy's practice space near Kenmore! It fucked rocked! We sounded a lot better than expected-- We might start working on getting a real demo out so we can start playing soon. Thanks to JP and Jake from Chauncy for letting us in and shit. Thanx to Jon and (sorry I forgot your name) the drummer for Chauncy for letting us use their shit.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! (and i think it was Anya's birthday) I hope you all had a good day, even though today is perhaps one of the most bullshit hollidays of all! Let's go celebrate white people killing native americans and giving them small pox! Anyways... the Runs are working on some new songs and hopefully when matt is fully re-incorporated to the band after a long hiatus we will be in business!

October is nearing it's end... and the Runs are doing just fine. Well, exept for the fact that Max R. and Matt haven't been very much involved with the band lately. Hopefully Matt won't be grounded all the time after his current "grounding" is done so we can actually practice! But so far John and Jenny and Max have been doing ok. Just the other day the Runs recorded a bunch of songs and did a song with John Paul from "Chauncy." Thanx JP you're a cool guy.

Well, since september, things have been quiet for the Runs. A little too quiet. But hopefully we'll stop sucking so we can play a show soon! John's friends in Effigy from concord might be able to land The Runs an underground radio show some time soon...

SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER

Max B got a call from Drew and/or Tim from CFC the other day and they told him that the gig on the 27th was CANCELLED due to the fact that none of the possible venues were available. Hopefully we'll be able to find a new place to play. But if we don't, it looks like The Runs won't have their first gig for a while. What a drag!

SEP-13-01

Today, Max and John were informed by Drew and Tim from Cuban Fizzle Crisis (CFC) that we are playing a gig on OCTOBER 27!!! So we now have our "first gig" booked and we're all happy. It's gonna be at a big field near a farm... we think. Somewhere near Newton, I guess... We think... We'll keep you posted. But DON'T MAKE ANY PLANS ON OCT 27!! You better fuckin come to our show!

Today was a really shitty day. Today, lots of people died for a bunch of FUCKED UP PEOPLE for a bunch of FUCKED UP REASONS. We, as a band, give our greatest sypathies to everybody who was lost or felt loss today. From this day on, we will all (at the least) know someone who knows someone who was killed today.

The Runs (exept for Jenny) went to camp and got back a little while ago. since then we got better so say "yay!" for us. Anyway, today John fixed the site so all the mean people that wanted us to change it should be happy and not bother us or our manager.

AUG-11-01 NEWS FLASH!!!

We have a manager now. But because of her rather oppressing personal situation, we can't mention any of her info (not even her name). But anyways, she will be in charge of everything that's too complicated for us. If you would like to reach her for any particular reason, too bad 'cus the people she really works for don't want me to mention her name.

John (that's me) made the official The Runs website today. I'm taking it really seriously because I'm an idiot, so there is anything i'm missing, let me know. Anyways, the site will eventually be good, but for now it will suck.

The Runs had their first real band practice today (woo hoo!!), without Matt(boo!). Matt is at camp, and we'll just have to suffer untill he gets back. But since John and Max are going to camp for two weeks on sunday, it doesn't make much a difference.
