Can a band really Fall from nowhere? Well apparently the rock band 'Falling From Nowhere' thought so. "We used to suck real bad." says bassist Joe Bocianowski. "Then one day we switched members worked our butts off and went out and rocked. It shocked all the kids that have ever been to any of our shows."
It all started back in May of 2001, a band called 'Advisory' had just broken up. Guitarist Steve Weber decided to start a new band. So he talked to Jay, the guitarist in his old band, and a friend from school named Greg and they both agreed. One problem though, they needed a bassist. They went to Joe and asked him and he agreed. After a few months of practicing Joe, Jay and Greg sat down to talk about the future of the band. They all decided that if they want to go any farther they had to let Steve go. They felt really bad doing it, but he was really holding them back. They decided just to stick with a 3 piece. After months of writing new songs and practicing they got their first show. It was at the local youth group center. They were really lucky to get that show. Bobby, the guy who set up the show, knew that they sucked as advisory and was not really sure on taking another chance with the band. But he did and the band played a Great show. Everybody expected them to make fools out of themselves but they were in for a surprise. Joe decided that he wanted to name the band 'Falling from nowhere' as a result. So he pitched it to the other guys and they liked it. After that the band got a couple more shows until May of 2002, the band got into a fight and as a result Jay quit. Joe and Greg wanted the band to go on so Greg went to World of music and found a flyer for two guys that wanted to start a band. That's when the guys met DJ and Matt. They decided to keep the name 'Falling From Nowhere' and started writing new songs. They practiced for about a month and their first show came in June of 2002. It was a good turnout, but due to the fact that DJ and Matt weren't used to playing in bands the band was not ready. For the next month Matt had no time for practice in between school and work so he quit. Joe and Greg talked to Jay and asked him if he wanted to fill in. Jay agreed. After a while the filling in became permanent and they decided to bring back two songs from the other band, "Small Town Revolution" and "Bad Friend." After that they got their first show together at The Beer Mug, a local bar in Erie, in October 2002. They played really well at that show and were a crowd favorite. From then on in they have played a large number of shows. In January 2003, Joe brought up the idea of going into a studio to record a 5 song demo. They heard about Shawn Hammer through a band called 'Bound By Deceit' who are friends of the band. The cd can currently be bought at a local show or through Joe. The band is currently working on new songs and playing shows trying to spread their name and promote their demo.
