History of SME

Sloppy MeatEaters began their struggle in July 1999. Josh Chambers, Singer/guitarist wrote and recorded their first release "Shameless Self Promotion" with Kevin Highfield pounding out the drums less than 3 months after they first got together. They released the CD on their own in December 1999 and within weeks the band had sold the entire first pressing and struck gold when they met Travis Gerke. He quickly filled the slot of Bass player and the band was actually that...a Band!

The band then continued on the road for their first US summer tour playing the last date of the Vans Warped Tour.

The constant touring took its toll on Travis and he parted ways with the band but lucked shined its light down and the band met a talented guitarist by the name of John who traded six strings for four and became the third member of Sloppy MeatEaters! After only a few months together, the final line up began to mold themselves to the potential that is in-bedded in this band.
