Take Off Your Pants And Jacket, What A Name!!
Take Off Your Pants And Jacket is one of Blink 182's best CDs out. It has 13 great songs and 2 different bonus songs on each CD. The humor in the songs are exceptional and makes you want to listen to the songs again. Once again, Blink-182 has put in many serious songs and many funny ones just for a joke.
What Bonus Songs? How Many CDs??
In their new album, Take off Your Pants And Jacket, Blink-182 decided to make 3 different CDs. Each CD has a different picture about the title on the CD. On each CD there are 2 bonus songs, one that has a meaning while the other is just a dumb joke one. The red CD with the plane on it (Take off) comes with the two bonus songs of "Time To Break Up" (the serious one) and "Mother's Day" (the dumb joke one). The yellow CD with the pair of pants on it (pants) comes with "What Went Wrong" (the serious ones, and one of my favorite out of all the Blink-182 CDs) and then " I Wanna F**K A Dog In The A**" (the dumb joke one and it is very funny). The final CD which has a jacket on it (jacket), the two bonus songs are "Expert Knowledge" (the serious one) and "F***ing Grampa" (the dumb joke one). So you might want to download the songs of the internet so you can pick your favorite songs and buy that CD. Just visit : http://www.blink-182.org/songinfo.others.html and you can hear the bonus songs with real player. You can tell which CD is which by the sticker on the front.
Humor
Right when you heard the name of their new CD, you probably started laughing. But that is only the begging of the comedy in Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. (A little background information: Blink-182's guitar tech, Larry, thought of the name of the CD when he was skiing.) The little bonus songs once again reflect Blink-182's level of maturity, not to mention the 4th song on the CD, "Happy Holidays You Bastard". Even in their real songs, like "First Date", you get a lot of humor in it. Sometimes you wonder: how old are these guys??
Songs (including bonus songs)
Anthem Part 2 is the first song in Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. It is a song about teenagers and what they think their rights should be. If they end up all messed up, its because of how they were brought up. "If were f****d up, it's all your fault!" It is a continuation to the song from Enema Of The State, Anthem
Then you hear the song Online Songs. Which is about someone that was just dumped my a girlfriend. He is going through all the dramas of being dumped.
First Date is a slightly inmature song about two people going on a date for the first time. Of course, the guy wants to make "this night last forever". Listen to the song if you want to understand it a bit more. It has a great beat and is very catchy.
Happy Holidays You Bastard is the song that is the most inmature out of the 13 regular songs. It is a very simple minute long song. Very easy to understand.
Story Of A Lonely Guy is a song about a lonely guy. It is a very moving song and very well written. The guy doesn't want to talk to his friends, so he drowns his troubles with some beer. You will want to listen to this slow song over and over again. Even if you are only "a stupid boy".
Everyone knows the next song, The Rock Show. Basically it is about a guy in a band that meet this girl at one of their shows. Right away they fell in love. The person is telling you about all the feelings that is happening at the begging of the relationship. The Rock Show has a very good beat, good lyrics and a catchy chorus. "I fell in love with the girl at the rock show".
If your parents separated when you were a kid, then you'll know how the person in Stay Together For The Kids feels. He wants to do anything to get them back together. The child doesn't know how to react, everyone is fighting and he wants it all better. A wonderfully written song, that touches many children all over the world.
Roller Coaster is about someone that wants to ask someone out but is afraid too. He goes forward, but then drops back. He goes forward to ask, but falls back because he is afraid.
Reckless Abandon is about someone that is a menace to society. He does everything that he is not supposed to. In the ends, he is the one that really suffers.
Everytime I Look For You is about someone that has just left a long relationship. He feels unsecured and doesn't know why it had to end. Where ever he looks for his ex-girlfriend, she is not there.
Have you ever said Give Me One Good Reason to someone?? Basically, that is what this entire song is about. The person in the song doesn’t like any of the people that he is supposed to like. He likes the unpopular people. Why don't you give him one good reason why he shouldn't??
Shut Up is about someone that wants out of a relationship. He/she is sick of being held back and going no where. He/she wants a turn to speak up and say what he/she thinks. If only the other person would just shut up.
Please Take Me Home is about two best friends that decided to go out. When it doesn’t work then want it back the way it used to be.
Mother's Day, I Wanna F**k A Dog In The A** and F***ing Grampa are all very simple to understand, they are only around a minute 30 seconds long and are very stupid. They are very funny and are just there as a little extra.
What Went Wrong is one of my favorite Blink-182 songs ever. It is about someone that is wondering what went wrong in a relationship. It is a very good song with good music, lyrics and everything.
Expert Knowledge could be about more then one thing, so you listen to it and decide on what it is about..
Time To Break Up is about someone that dumped their girlfriend but then realizes it was a mistake. All his friends are telling him he was better off without her and he should move on. But what's done is done.
