Fated love. Something in me is realy drawn to that...
Despite the fact that these two are not the main characters in the manga, they are the characters that most captured my attention.
I think it's because of theri storyline- the tenseness and they way they both seem to be played by fate. Both are servants of Laures... and Tetei carries out his job with a fanatisism that leads him to free Zadei.
And both are victims of that unrequited love. Zadei, who is in love with Teteiyusu, who cannot return his affections because he is in love with Laures, who in turn cannot return his affections because he is in love with Hilda.
That is why Hilda and Laure's plot stops being interesting. After the first few volumes of the manga, when Hilda finds out who really took her memories, you realise that no matter what befalls them, Hilda and Laures will be fine.
Zadei and Tetei's plot just intensifies. After Tetei decieves Zadei by giving him the silver demon grass ring, he uses Zadei's growing affections for him against him, much the way Laures has done and will continue to do for Teteiyusu. When Tetei's plans to kill Hilda fail, Zadei adds to the loss by raping him. When Teteiyusu stills rebukes his abvances, Zadei even kills him.... he cannot stand to see his beautiful angel love anyone but himself.
But.. you cannot feel hate for Zadei, for he feels bad about Tetei's death, ang as he cries he swears to kill Laures, for he caused the pain Zadei felt by having his angel love him and not Zadei.
Zadei agrees to the terms offered by Kauron to morph into Titan in exchange for a life-flower for Tetei daily, even though he knows it will cause his appearance to transform into something hideous. Kauron sees Zadei's weakness towards Teteiyusu, and decides to use him to kill Laures by reviving Tetei- but only for one day at a time.
When Zadei tries to kiss Tetei after he awakens, he does not stop him, but angrily says, "You can do whatever you want to this body. I am not truly alive, this body does not belong to me."
Fueled by this remark, Zadei agrees to the terms offered by Kauron to morph into Titan in exchange for a life-flower for Tetei daily, even though he knows it will cause his appearance to transform into something hideous.
In the final confrontation, Tetei still will not love Zadei, yelling at him for disfiguring himself for him when he only wants him to kill him, for he cannot have Laures.
Yet when Zadei falls after Laures's suicide, Tetei decides to wait for him to awaken, although it may take years, or the rest of the angel's life, to see him resolved.
As Zadei awakens, nothing is resolved. They don't kiss, or talk, but both wait for the other to begin, relationship still as raw and full of past hurts as it was the day they used each other to fulfill their dreams, and failed.
They will always be failing in each other.
