Riot




The Band officially formed in October 1999.They have since had extensive experience and developed a unique style that enhances their musical talents and skills.
They have performed at : various private functions, School Disco's, Skate Park Comp, J-Factory, Hunter/Hunter,The Grand Junction-Maitland, SJ's for Powderkeg - CD Launch, 'Elvis Rocks' Festival-Maitland 2001,The Cambridge Hotel,Mayfield Hotel,The Bank Hotel and Band Comp. Performed in the 'Battle of the Bands' - Final at the Bank Hotel East Maitland in November 2000.They have recorded 2 tracks of their own compilation, released on the 'FloodMud III' CD early in 2001. 2001- Semi-Finalists for Battle of the Bands at both The Albion Hotel Newcastle and The Mayfield Hotel. Came 2nd place in judges choice in Fonnsbach Band Comp.They have also performed at 'The Furnace' in Newcastle,Karuah Hotel and Burgers and Bobbysocks of Charlestown.They have recently supported 'The Radiators' at WangiWangi Worker's Club.
Riot draws influence from styles such as: Rockabilly, Punk, Psychobilly, Blues and Rock N' Roll ; which when combined creates a unique style.
Riot's inspiration comes from bands such as 'The Living End', 'H Block 101','AC/DC', 'The Blood Idols''Rancid'and 'Green Day'. Other noted inspiration comes from: Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, 'Eddie Cochrane', 'Elvis Presley','The Stray Cats','The Bouncing Souls','Tiger Army','The Who' and 'The Brian Setzer Orchestra'. Riot are a high energy level band, guaranteed to entertain their audience with a unique style. They play a combination of covers and self written work to enhance their abilities.
