Azizi A.K.A. aziz, zizi, ziz

Hey, my name is Azizi. I am a opaline yellowface (and a gorgeous bird if I do say so myself).
On June 30, 2001, my fate was sealed. I was sort of an impulse buy. My mom saw me and knew I was the most handsome bird she ever saw and she bought me. I don't blaim her, I am extremely attractive.

My mom doesn't like my attitude very much, though. She tried to teach me to step up, but I refuse to. She could chase me around the cage all day for I care. There is no way I am going on that finger!

She always calls me the most picky and lazy bird ever. She gets angry sometimes when I won't go down to the food dish to eat because I don't see the seed at the top of the dish. Can you blaim for not wanting to pick through all that nasty "healthy" stuff??
Lately I have been driving my mom insane because all I do is yell and yell all the time (mostly at Amaya). It's not my fault, that little bird is clueless! She clings to me like gum to a shoe. I have to admit, I do deserve the attention, but she just needs to leave me alone sometimes. Mom knows I have a short temper and usually takes Amaya out when I get too crazy.
Mom gets nervous a lot at night. I am a light sleeper and the slightest noise wakes me up. I get so scared sometimes I just start flying around the cage running into the bars. Mom calls it night fright. As a result, Amaya usually gets knocked off perches and gets hurt sometimes. The last time it happened it resulted in Amaya losing both primary flight feathers that she was growing in and she was bleeding too. Mom started crying because I wouldn't stop crashing around (even with the lights on)and took Amaya out of the cage and put her in a smaller one for the night. So now I have to sleep with a night light on.

Mom got a new little bird in september and I just love her! She is so beautiful. Her name is Addi. At first I thought I could still be happy with Amaya, but my mom started letting me and Addi play outside the cage together and I decided that I like Addi more. Mom has moved Amaya into Addi's cage, and Addi is now with me. She takes a bit of pushing when I want my head preened, but she is a good cage mate all in all.
