Music ManŽ Introduces Benji Madden Signature Guitar

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (July 23, 2004) - Music Man proudly announces the new Benji Madden Signature Guitar, designed specifically for Madden, the lead guitarist for Good Charlotte. A variation of the Music Man Silhouette Special, this is the only Signature Guitar in the Music Man line to feature a single humbucker.

Madden, a loyal fan of Music Man guitars, has played the Silhouette Special since 2000. Over the years, the company tailored the instrument to fit his needs, and it eventually evolved into the signature model offered today.

"As the lead guitarist for Good Charlotte, Benji has shared the limelight with Music Man instruments for four years. Therefore, we are recognizing his dedication to Music Man with his own signature model," said Derek Brooks of Ernie Ball. "Like all Music Man instruments, the Benji Madden Signature Guitar is a functional, playable tool for the working musician," he explained.

Specs are as follows:

High gloss polyester Madden green metallic finish with a maple neck, textured black finish with rosewood neck or textured white finish with a maple neck.
Frets - 22 high profile, medium width and custom "knuckle" inlay at 12th fret
Pickguard - one-ply white or one-ply black
Bridge - Standard Music Man strings-thru-the body bridge of chrome plated, hardened steel with bent steel saddles
Pickup configuration - Single humbucker; DiMarzio custom wound

Introduced at the NAMM show in July, the guitar will ship to retailers nationwide fall '04.
