Punktuation-Who are you monsters?
We are Electric Frankenstein
P-Which part of the world is your graveyard located in?
EF-New York/New Jersey area.
P-Who are the corpses in the band?
EF-EF consists of these body parts: Steve Miller - vocals; Carl Porcaro - lead guitar; Sal Canzonieri - rhythm guitar; Dan Canzonieri - bass; Rob Sefcik - drums.
P-Why have you chosen to haunt us with your noise?
EF-To bring on a New Rock Revolution that will revitalize rock n roll.
P-Tell us a history of Electric Frankenstein:
EF-EF started in the early 90s and quickly grew very popular, first in NYC, then the rest of the US and then Europe, Australia, and Asia. EF had Steve Miller as singer on the first 2 albums, then Scott Wilkins (of Verbal Abuse) for the next 2 albums, then Rik L Rik as guest singer for one album, and then Steve Miller returned as singer for the next 5 albums and continues with EF now. We have released records on Estrus, Get Hip, Man's Ruin, Triple X, Reptilian, Au-go-go, Victory Records, and others. EF has toured all over the US, Canada, and Europe many times. We've sold over 100,000 records in total.
P-What is the discography of the band and what is each ghoul's favorite album/song? Why?
EF-Our complete discography is too large to list here, but can be found at this site: http://www.electricfrankenstein.com. My favorite album is the new one we are working on right now, that will be released in the fall, it will be called "The Buzz of a 1,000 Volts" on Victory Records. Because it far surpasses anything we have done so far for ferociousness, passion, and song writing skill.
P-Does Electric Frankenstein only come out at night? Where are your favorite places to haunt in this world?
EF-Yep, EF only comes out at night. We like to go to Monster Memorabilia stores, like The Outer Limits in NJ, the Chiller Theater Horror Convention (two times a year), and lots of record stores!
P-What do you guys think about Dracula?
EF-We blast him apart in an upcoming video game that features EF. Nevertheless, Dracula is a great monster that scares many people with his animal magnetism and powers.
P-Does Electric Frankenstein have any favorite bands?
EF-likes: Kool Keith, Monster Magnet, Social Distortion, Motley Crue, Slayer, Motorhead, Christian Death, Misfits, Dead Boys, NY Dolls, Damned, Sex Pistols, Mott the Hoople, David Bowie, Black Sabbath; Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Elvis.
Also, some great new bands are: Nutrajet, Hotbox, Lambs, Half Man, Cherry Valence, BlackStripSonic.
P-Why is it that your sound is spine-chilling?
EF-We work hard to play aggressively and bring in a lot of emotion to our sound when producing and also we make sure when song-writing that we have powerful hooks and melodies with strong rhythms.
P-Who comes out to an Electric Frankenstein seance? What are some of your funnest times while rocking out?
EF-EF gets a wide diversity of fans: Punk, Garage, hardcore, Metal, Rock N Roll, Glam, etc. It was funny when we played Club Mesa in southern California and the girls were taking off their bras and throwing them on stage at us.
P-Any great stories about touring?
EF-Just a scary one, on the way to a show, we saw an accident ahead of us and the girl's car flipped over and was all smashed up. I went underneath the wreckage to help her and she was upside in a pool of blood and not breathing. I helped her to breath and she woke up and we waited until a doctor and police arrived.
P-Any frightful moments while playing a show? What is the scene like where you guys dwell at as opposed to other scenes?
EF-Nothing really frightful during an actual show, other than an amplifier breaking down and not being able to play during the whole show. The NYC scene is very loose and disorganzied right now.
P-What is something that somebody might want to bring to an Electric Frankenstein concert (ie. a teddy bear to squeeze when they get scared)?
EF-Money to buy the large amount of merch we have to sell, ha.
P-What kind of ghosts and goblins come out to an E.F. show?
EF-Little green Frankenmidgets.
P-How do you all feel about Halloween?
EF-Everyday is Halloween to me, but it is a good national holiday for people to transform themselves and have fun for once.
P-What is it like to play for Victory Records?
EF-They are very good at promoting and supporting the band.
P-The Addams Family or The Munsters in a battle, who would win?
EF-Addams are smarter and more dealy. Munsters have more brute force.
P-What can we expect from the beast that is Electric Frankenstein in the future?
EF-New album in the fall, "The Buzz of a 1,000 Volts", touring begins in May. Hopefully we will play Japan and Australia this year.
P-Any final words for us to live by?
EF-Join the New Rock Revolution!
