Moving On

Chappu ran down Besaid beach, keeping his eyes out for any wondering fiends. This was the boring part of his job. When there was no fiends in sight. He sighed, his thoughts wondering to Wakka, who was no doubt back at home, or out with friends.

He’s probably with Lulu, or maybe Yuna and that cousin of hers, Rikku. I wonder if Yuna has any idea what her little game did to Wakka and me.

Chappu snorted, “yeah right. She’d never possibly think her game could lead to this,” he muttered out loud.

Smiling Chappu shrugged his shoulders. He knew what he and Wakka were doing was wrong, but for some reason he didn’t care. It felt right. He cringed, thinking of what his parents would say, if they were still alive. I can’t think about that. It does me no good. They’re gone.

“I can’t do this,” he cried, frustrated. It’s not fair to Wakka, he deserves to have somebody, he can love in public.

Even before this incestuous relationship started, Chappu had decided to join the crusaders, he guessed now it was time to tell his only brother.

Wakka was mad! He was seething. “How can you do this?” He cried, glaring at his brother. “It’s against Yevon, to use machina.”

Chappu sighed, he knew this wouldn’t be easy, “Wakka I know, but the crusaders really think they have a chance to beat Sin. I’ve got to try.”

Wakka nodded, choking back more tears, “fine, but you had better be careful! I mean it Chappu, if you die, I’m will go to the farplane and drag your sorry butt back to Besaid.”

Chappu grinned, “I believe ya. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” Wakka looked down his face full of pain and worry. Chappu frowned, walking over to Wakka and pulling him into a tight hug. “I’ll miss ya, bro.”

Wakka looked up, “I’ll miss you too, bro.” Wakka went to kiss Chappu, but was stopped.

Chappu smiled, sadly, “we can’t, we have to leave these feeling behind, ya know.”

Sniffing, Wakka nodded, “I know.”

Wakka, Lulu, Luzzu, Yuna and Rikku walked Chappu to the harbor, hugging and kissing him bye. They watched as his boat took off. Wakka wiped tears off his face. Yuna turned to Wakka and hugged him, surprising him, “don’t cry, Wakka.”

“But, I’ll miss him.”

Yuna nodded. “He was a good guy and he thinks he’s doing what’s right for Spira, even if it is frowned upon by Yevonites.” She looked out over the waters, “so all we can do is pray for him and the other crusaders.”

Wakka smiled, “I know. Hey Yuna when did you get so smart,” Yuna grinned.

“I don’t know.”

“Well it suits ya.” Better then her being bossy.

“Hehe, thanks.” Yuna walked over to Rikku, and the two ran back up to Besaid, hand in hand.

Wakka shook his head in amusement, turning to the black mage, who had been good friends with Chappu. “Hey, Lu, you okay?”

Lulu nodded, “sure. You know, you two were always like brothers to me. I’ll really miss him.”

“Me too,” Luzzu grabbed Lulu’s hand and both teens grinned at each other. Wakka raised his eyebrow.

“When did this happen?”

“Um, a few weeks ago.” Luzzu blushed.

“Well good for ya,” Wakka smiled, waving bye, and going back up to Besaid. Getting there he was surprised to see a moving cart at the hut next to his.

Someone’s moving in! Cool. Wakka walked into his own hut, finding a white piece of paper tacked on the fridge. He picked it up, reading it.

Hey Wakka,

Now that I’m gone, you’re the man of the house. The guy I worked for has agreed to let you have my job if you want it. It’s boring at times, but it does pay well. And you’re a pretty good fighter, with that blitz ball of yours. Another thing, you’ve always talked about joining the Besaid’s Blitz Ball team. I say go for it, you’re really good. I’m sorry for what happened between us. I want you to know I do love you. But I want you to have someone you can tell everyone about, whether it be another guy or a girl. If you do fall for someone, don’t worry about my feelings, bro. I want you to be happy. Go smack Luzzu for me. I just found out he’s been dating Lulu. Tell him the smack is from me, and there will be more where that came from if he hurts Lu. I would of done this myself, but I didn’t have time. As soon as I write this, I have to leave for my boat.

Wakka, be happy, and if anything were to happen to me, please don’t blame the crusaders or the al behd. This was my choice.

I love ya, bro.

Take care of everyone in Besaid.

Love,

Chappu

Wakka smiled, tears streaming down his cheeks. Chappu, I love you too. But you’re right. I have to move on and forget aboutthese wrong feelings. Be safe. Please be safe.

Wakka put the note away, in his secret spot, then went outside. He looked to his new neighbors house, and smiled, seeing a young boy around his age. The boy stared at Wakka.

Wakka smiled, “hey, I’m Wakka. Welcome to Besaid.”

Smiling the boy, walked over to Wakka, “Hello Wakka. I’m Tidus.”

Wakka blinked his eyes, surprised at how blue the boys eyes were. He’s cute, Wakka thought, blushing. Oy, Chappu’s not gone for fifteen minutes and already I’m checking someone out.

“Hi, Tidus,” Wakka looked at the moving cart, “where did ya move from?”

Tidus smiled, “Luca. My step-dad’s a retired Blitz player, and wanted to enjoy his retirement here in Besaid.”

“Step-dad,” Wakka questioned.

“Yeah, my mom and dad got a divorce, and he became a guardian for a summoner. He didn’t make it back from the pilgrimage though.”

“Oh, sorry to hear that. What summoner?”

“Summoner Braska.”

“WHAT,” both boys jumped, turning to a surprised looking Yuna?

Yuna walked up to Tidus, “your dad was a guardian to Braska?”

Tidus nodded, “um yeah. Jecht.”

Tears came to Yuna’s eyes, “that’s my dad. Was,” she sniffled.

“Oh,” Tidus looked at Wakka. Wakka nodded, confirming Yuna’s words.

Yuna smiled, “I own your father a lot, for helping out my dad. I’m sorry they couldn’t make it back to us. It sad that after all they did, Sin came back, huh.”

“Yeah,” Tidus nodded, “it is.”

Yuna grinned, “I’m going to do something about it.” She said in a firm voice. “I may not be ready yet, but I’m going to train, and someday be ready to become a summoner.”

Wakka was surprised, “what?”

“Don’t try and stop me, Wakka. It might take me years before I’m ready, but I’ve made up my mind.” Yuna preformed Yevon’s prayer, then walked back to her hut. She smiled at her adopted parents, and walked to her room.

Rikku looked up and frowned, “so you’ve made up your mind?”

Yuna nodded, “yes! Will you help me?”

Rikku looked down, “I...uh, of course.” Rikku walked over to Yuna and hugged her. Yuna smiled, and kissed her on the cheek.

“Thanks, oh and didn’t I promise you something?” Rikku smiled, nodding her head.

“Well,” Yuna grinned, and watched as Rikku took off her shirt. Yuna made sure her door was locked before, walking over to her bed, where Rikku lay.

Wakka looked up at Tidus, watching as the boy ate his lunch. He had invited him over, to try and get to know him better. So far they had found out they have a lot of things in common. They both love combat, Blitzball, and are very caring people.

“Small world, huh,” Wakka said, meaning meeting Yuna.

“Yeah.”

“Hey, wanna go play blitz on the beach,” Wakka grinned?

Tidus stood up, “sure, sounds fun.”

“Great,” Wakka jumped up, grabbing his blitz ball. Smirking he tapped Tidus on the back, “tag you’re it.” He yelled, running out of his hut.

“Hey,” Tidus giggled, running after Wakka.

The two played well into the night, having the time of their lives. All thought’s of Chappu completely fled Wakka’s mind. This was a good thing for Wakka, he was finally moving on.

THE END!

A/N

Don’t kill me. The sequel is called The Fight for Spira. Check it out. I couldn’t leave Wakka and Chappu together cause it is rather wrong, and I don’t think either of them would want to continue the relationship. And well I’m a die hard Wakka/Tidus fan. The Rikku/Yuna thing might work, cause I have some ideas that make it okay for them to be together.
