- PG.99/the lonesome waltz of leonard cohen
Last week I could not believe what I would see,
The tears rolled down softly.
Nudged down the stairs oh so sadly.
We could steal the truth to never be seen.
One stair.
Two stairs.
Three stairs go spiraling.
At best a cracked head will stop your smiling.
Playful blood streams talking and smirking.
At the bottom of a stairwell I saw you.
I swear...
One stair.
Two stairs.
Three stairs go spiraling.
Waiting...I'm waiting...
- PG.99/the list (filth cover)
The list is thousands long
People who decided it wasn't for them
Did they really make that decision?
Conditioning runs deep in the U.S.A.
Teenage rebellion is just fine as long as you stop once you turn eighteen
Thousands of punks turned to society's tools
There is something in their eyes
You can tell they sold out
Remember punk is more than teenage rebellion
Sure it starts there. But why does it end?
And the list is thousands long
What other life is there besides a life of freedom?
Never give in
Never give up
When boredom sets in
Think of the young kids who we once were
That enthusiasm is still there
You look around
What do you see?
One to replace every five that leave
And the list is millions long
But, lately I see an urgency
Back to old values of dedication and fucking rebellion
Perhaps the list is only hundreds long.
- CITY OF CATERPILLAR/an innocent face
It was the mistakes in on it. In on it.
Gave me a picture of an innocent face.
But 18 years and 7 years can't make a difference.
Cause in one year I'd end up knocking dust off a good thing.
I guess one benefits...
One benefits.
Relationships and lies.
Mistaken agendas.
Mistakes in on it.
Whatever.
I guess one can benefit from a relationship which makes the contender the one who needs the hand.
Whatever.
Whatever gave me a picture of an innocent face.
End up knocking dust off a good thing.
- CITY OF CATERPILLAR/the ghosts of shadows passing in the city streets
I can hear her footsteps beating closer.
This may be my only chance.
In a shadow of doubt I doubt our shadows kissed in dance.
Without lips or eyes to open or close my hand felt your heart along the cracked pavement.
Ghosts go unnoticed I suppose.
And I've unstitched the seams it seems this is the final farewell.
I've locked myself up.
Up in a room where willows weep.
And you know every time you leave it chokes to breathe.
Into a chest the blackest of blue where the ravens rest.
Waiting to pick.
Pick my heart apart.
They diagnosed schizophrenia.
But I know it's hypothermia.
Cause this coffin's too cold without you near.
To be alive's a crime when your heart's died.
