Sit-Down Girl

Sit-Down Girl waited brazen
by a dustbin,
the street in front stretched pale,
as above the light grew thin.
I passed her twice that evening
and have never since seen her stand.
Often to crouch, clutching air,
then slump back, turn to sand.
I saw her again tonight,
she is disappearing with the Moon.
I know already her remains
-But an outline on the stone.
