Claire was driving home when her cell phone rang.
"Hello?" - Claire
"Hi, it’s JC." – JC
"Oh hi." – Claire
"So you want to do something tonight?" – JC
"I can’t. I’m busy tonight. I have to finish some unfinished work that didn’t get done today." – Claire
"Oh ok then. Well maybe tomorrow." – JC
"Sure." – Claire
"Ok, I’ll talk to you later then." – JC
"Ok bye." – Claire
"Bye." – JC. Claire pulled into the driveway of her apartment. She walked in to find Drew sitting on the couch eating chips and talking on the phone at the same time. The house was a mess. Claire walked up to the TV and turned it off.
"Do one or the other. I’m not paying the bill for both." – Claire
"Yea, she’s home now." – Drew. He was talking to one of his friends. "Ok bye." – Drew
"When are you going to go home?" – Claire
"What you don’t want me here?" – Drew. Drew stood from the couch. Claire walked into the bedroom. ‘I thought I made the bed this morning?’ – Claire thought.
"Now that you’re eating me out of house and home," Claire said as she walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator," I’m running out of money." – Claire. Then she thought about JC and the jobs at JIVE. "I have to go to work early tomorrow, so I won’t be here when you wake up." – Claire. Claire began to pick up the mess Drew had made. She went tot he bathroom and picked up the wet towels off the floor. While throwing something away she noticed something in the trash can. It was a used condom. Claire couldn’t believe her eyes. She walked out of the bathroom into the living room.
"Drew I think you better go home now." – Claire
"Why?" – Drew
"Just go!" Claire said with her voice raised and full of anger. Drew didn’t say anything. He just grabbed his jacket and walked out the door.
Claire was a virgin and didn’t own condoms or allow them in her apartment. "Oh man," she said aloud. Her beagle Dodger jumped up on the couch and lay down next to her. Claire’s eyes began to fill with water. Claire unplugged her phone and went to sleep on the couch.
The next morning she woke up at 5 o’clock. Claire got ready for work like any other day except now her heart was broken. She walked into her office building and found Kelly along with everyone else hard at work.
"You have one message Ms. Saunders." – Kelly
"Thanks Kelly." – Claire. The message was form Drew. She crumpled it up and threw it away. Claire picked up the phone and dialed the number for JIVE records. E
"Hello JIVE records, how may I help you?"
"Hi this is Claire Saunders. May I talk to Johnny Wright please?" – Claire
"Hold please."

"Hello this is Johnny Wright." – Wright
"Hi this is Claire Saunders. I spoke to you yesterday about the job openings." – Claire
"Yes. So have you decided?" – Wright
"I’m not sure yet. How flexible are the work hours?" – Claire
"Well during the fall if you go to college then we usually work around that. During the summer it is usually a little more hectic because of the tours but the salary rises with the incoming profits." – Wright
"Ok, do you know the latest hours I would have to work?" – Claire
"I think the latest would be 9:30 except for the tour. The shows are usually every other day and go till about 10:30." – Wright
"Well everything sound good to me. Do you need to see my resume or anything." – Claire
"Nope we already have it. When you were recommended your resume was retrieved from your work." – Wright
"Really? So everything is set?" – Claire
"Yea, can you start next Monday?" – Wright
"Yes I can. Would there be a certain group that I would be working for?" – Claire
"You would be working for ‘N Sync. Is that a problem?" – Wright
"Oh no, no problem, not at all. Thank you very much." – Claire
"Thank you Ms. Saunders. Talk to you soon." – Wright
"Good-bye." – Claire
"Bye." – Wright. Claire hung up the phone and sat back in her chair.
"Kelly how would you like to be promoted?" – Claire
"What do you mean?" – Kelly
"Well, I got a new job and I am going to recommend you take my place." – Claire
"Where is your new job?" – Kelly
"At JIVE. I’m going to work for ‘N Sync." – Claire
"When do you start?" – Kelly
"Next Monday. I’m thinking about moving too. I want to start all over." – Claire
