Watching the World

I listen to hearts and heaven's persona.
Watching the Comet's iridescent corona.
Flicker me past.
Never the last.
Journey's so swift and sure.

I cry to horizon, to mimic the Raven.
I'm safe and snug within my haven,
Of the Damned and dead.
Get out of my head!
Said to the piper with his lure.

Whistling winds, and melody's call.
Joining the dance, of the shadows ball.
Fingers entwining.
Be seated for dining.
Children at play within garden's beyond.

Watching the moonlight, trickle on by.
Howl of the wolf, and the nightingale's cry,
Rise with the hackle.
A snicker and cackle,
From the friend's I always thought fond…

Of me indeed 'twas a fool you know.
To think that the world would suddenly show.
A whole new side.
Took me for a ride.
Played to the core like an ass.

Now I sit within memories, and images fading.
No emotion past thought. No joy. No hating,
Those of the Past.
Never the last.
Never catch me with my head in the grass.

Not again.
