Vocal Instructions: Intro: Drawl out a bit of a croon, kinda slow, drawing out the last word of the line. At the end of the third line, it’s startin to get harsh, and the volume slides up just a bit. By the end of the fourth line, you should be worked up to a near roar, which carries over into the first verse. I know, it escalates quick, but that’s the point. Control is a disintegrating illusion.
Verses: Roar, just go with it. It should really be typed in all caps. It’s that kinda tone, but you know I find caps annoying, so, just imagine. All through the verse, everything runs together without a pause, almost monotone, but every word gets snapped out, bit off. Keep it tight, seriously. For pace, I’m thinking something kinda, um, Slipknot-esque. Think, the beginning of Sic, or Eyeless. Something kinda frantic, know what I mean?
Chorus: Slow it back down, but don’t get too close to the tempo of the intro. Bring the volume and tone down too, but not too much, intensity stays high. A touch of a plaintive wail should ride in with the roar. Just mix it in, without quite hitting either, get it? Escalate the last line of the chorus so you can slam right into the next verse.
Interlude: Just fuckin’ scream it.
