Introduction |
This is a quite non-comprehensive collection of links to various information resources on the World Web Web. It is designed to assist librarians and individuals (sometimes they can be one and the same) who work or live in Broward County, Florida. |
The links are arranged by subject in the same way books are arranged in most public libraries, using the rudiments of the Dewey Decimal System, 100s through 900s, and Biographies. Each link is accompanied by a subject, a query that the link can answer and a comment about what site the link will take you to. |
The links were selected in anticipation of information needs that might not be easily fulfilled by standard electronic sources. As a result, obscure information may appear on one subject while absolutely nothing will be said about another. The site is best used as a supplement to standard print and electronic resources. The site is under construction and will be updated as more links are added or discarded, or as suggestions are made. |
Because the site is meant to serve people living in the Broward County, Florida area, colors are added whenever a site is geographically related to Plantation, Broward County, or Florida: |
A PURPLE shading shows a bias to the city Plantation, only because I happen to live in that area and like it. So there! |
A BLUE shading means Broward County. |
A YELLOW shading means Florida. |
A GREEN shading has no meaning whatsoever! It's meant merely to help organize individual subjects that have multiple links. Pay no attention to that man behind the green curtain. |

Makes an ideal "last stop" before resorting to search engines. |

This is not a comprehensive database, so not necessarily everyone you can think of will be here. The "actors and actresses" section is organized by TV show and you have to scroll down to "other actors" and "other actresses" to find out about movie stars. All other databases are better organized. Alphabetical searches are available, as are links to related sites. By the way, the site refers to whether the celebrity is physically dead, not just the condition of his or her career. |
