Disclaimer: I do not own the bikermice from mars, I do own the lyrics to the song used in this fiction. I make no money/profit of this fiction. I however to own the characters Cassidy, Vac and Bolt.
Note: I would like thank Ukuli for recommending the song to me. You’re right it does fit right in. For the rest, even thought this is written later then all of the other parts this is the prologue to the Lies of war series and it takes place right before part one, returning home.
Conversations caught on tape

Conversation nr. 1: This conversation was made the first day miss Cassidy came to us, to me. And it is the beginning of many riddles.
beginning of tape:
ME: “You seem disoriented.”
HER: “What am I doing here?”
ME: “You mean to tell me, you don’t know?”
HER: “Well if I knew I wouldn’t be asking you this would I?”
ME: “Miss, you killed someone today.”
HER: “Who?”
ME: “You killed Bolt.”
HER: “You mean… I actually killed him?”
ME: “Have you ever suffered from amnesia before?”
HER: “What? No, not to my memory anyway.” *Snickers*
ME: “You mean to tell me you have no memory of what happened earlier this day?”
HER: “Of course I know what I did today.”
ME: “Tell me.”
HER: “Well I got up, had my brother make me some coffee, I just finished feeding my daughter when it was ready and I drank it up. Then I went out to train, the next thing I know I’m here… wait, I know what I did in the mean time. I just…”
ME: “You can’t remember can you?”
HER: “Of course I can, it’s just, I’m tired and I really want to know what I’m doing here.”
ME: “Well that’s is why you are here. You are here because you killed some one but you can’t remember, it was like you had a black out or something…”
End of tape.
Conversation nr. 2 : This was taped precisely one year after she first came to see me.
HER: “I still don’t know anything.”
ME: “Excuse me?”
HER: “Well, you just pushed in that button for taping thinking I know something, but I still don’t know anything.”
ME: “And what makes you think you still don’t anything?”
HER: “What is it with you people, always asking us what we think of it, why we think that, and so on. I can do that.”
ME: “Oh really?”
HER: “Well, what do you think of that?”
ME: “I’m not here to answer our questions miss.”
HER: “Well, no one ever does, do they.”
ME: “Tell me, what do you mean by that.”
HER: “Do you have any idea how many times I asked someone why mother died.”
ME: “You mean you don’t know why your mother died?”
HER: “Do you?”
ME: “I don’t know who you’re mother is.”
HER: “June”
ME: “June? June is your mother?”
HER: “So you do know her.”
ME: “I have heard about her, and I’ve met her a few times. But wasn’t she killed in battle?”
HER: “My mother was murdered by Bolt, I know this because I saw it. She was killed because she, like myself, do not take anything for granted.”
ME: “Is that why you killed him?”
HER: “Maybe, I don’t know. Maybe I didn’t kill at all. Maybe it was just someone who looked like me.”
ME: “Do you have any siblings?”
HER: “A bother, why?”
ME: “Well, in order to look like you, wouldn’t that person have to be related to you? Once again miss your conspiracy theory makes no sense at all.”
HER: “You want to know what makes no sense at all.”
ME: Tell me.”
Her: “This whole damn war. I’m telling you it’s like it was supposed to happen this way. Like it was planned or something, and then the fact that our government is nowhere to be found.”
End of tape.
conversation nr. 3 : This is the final conversation with Miss Cassidy before her release that very same day.
Beginning of tape.
HER: “I has been three years now. I still don’t know what I have done, or what I have done. It was like someone took over. Just like that. Like some sort of machine. I haven’t my little baby girl because of that. Who ever did this to me is going to pay. I will figure it out, I will.”
ME: “Now Miss Cassidy, you really believe that this is what has happened? A mind controlling device that took over on you and made you kill that man? A man most of us thought to be the one who would end the war.”
HER: “To end this war you have to go back to the beginning, find out what, how and why it happened.”
ME: “And who is going to do this? You?”
HER: “If no one else is going to, yes. There are so many questions surrounding this war it all makes no sense when you think of it.”
ME: “Are there really?”
HER: “You never thought about it? The first one, where are those responsible for this war? Where is the Martian government? Second my mother. In a previous conversation you said you knew her. Well you as many who knew her don’t know why she died. Neither do I, and I for one am willing to find it out. Third, Why isn’t it ending? Why isn’t anyone doing something about it?”
ME: “You raise good questions, but I really doubt the fact that you’ll be the one figuring them out.”
HER: “Wouldn’t you like to know all of those things? Wouldn’t you like this ridiculous war to end?”
ME: “We all want that miss.”
HER: “Then why isn’t anyone doing something against it?”
SPEAKER: “Would Vac please report in the main office, there is a call for you.”
ME: “Would you excuse me for just one minute…”
HER: “Yes of course.”
PAUSE: “ ”
ME: “Sorry about that. I have done some thinking, you have very good questions, and you do not oppose a treat to society any more. Well no more then someone else. I see no problem with letting you out.”
HER: “Who did you talk to?”
ME: “What makes you think I talked to anyone?”
HER: “You don’t really agree with me, the you get a call, and then suddenly you agree with me. Who did you talk to?”
ME: “You really don’t wanna know.”
HER: “ Well thank you for releasing me, when do I leave?”
ME: “Tonight, I already contacted your brother, he will be here tonight.”
HER: “Thank you, and if I may I would like to leave you with a little message from my mother. Those who live by the lie will never know the truth. Those who seek it, will never find it.”
End of tape.
As I write these conversations I can’t help but wonder off t a certain song I heard her singing ones, when she thought no one was listening.
If I could turn the page
In time then I’d rearrange
Just a day or two
Close my, Close my, Close my eyes.
But I couldn’t find a way
So I’ll settle for one day
To believe in you
Tell me, Tell me, Tell me lies
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Oh, no, no you can’t disguise
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Although I’m not making plans
I hope that you understand
There is a reason why
Close your, close your
Close you eyes
No more broken hearts
We’re better of apart
Let’s give it a try
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Oh, no, no you can’t disguise
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
If I could turn the page
In time then I’d rearrange
Just a day or two
Close my, Close my, Close my eyes.
But I couldn’t find a way
So I’ll settle for one day
To believe in you
Tell me, Tell me, Tell me lies
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Oh, no, no you can’t disguise
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Oh, no, no you can’t disguise
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

Lyrics by Fleetwood Mac, the song Little lies, from the album Tango in the night. Special thanks to Ukuli for recommending this song to me. You’re right, it does fit in with the stories.
