My Life in October

I found it totally necessary to make a long-winded post on what I've been doing for the last two weeks.

My typical day

6:30a.m.
I discover that I am awake. This usually occurs right in the middle of a good dream, and I try to speak, only to find that my face is muffled in a pillow, sometimes covered in saliva and hair. I roll onto my back and try to sleep some more.

6:40
My watch alarm goes off. I fumble with it to turn it off, often forgetting that my wrist does not have buttons on it. This usually takes me around ten seconds. I roll onto my side and try to sleep some more.

6:45
My dad yells loudly for me to get up. I roll onto my other side and try to sleep some more before surrendering to the system. I get up and dress myself, brush my teeth, change contact lenses.

6:55
The always awkward Asian breakfast. You are incapable of having Chinese food this early, but my parents always insist that I eat warm stuff. My mom is pretty blatantly racist. But... whatever.

7:00
My dad yells at me to inform me that I'm going to be late. I tell him that he doesn't need to yell when I'm four feet from him.

7:05
I leave home, closing the door on my mom bitching or whining about some trivial thing.

7:15
I arrive at school on foot. I head to my locker even if I don't need to. Because seriously, why not?

7:22
I discover that I have one minute left to traverse the south wing to reach English class.

7:28
English class begins. I rest my head on my hands and listening to Reynolds, trying to ignore the white bitches and Mark Amoroso as they continue with their theological debates and talk of poetr--

8:10
The bell rings, revitalizing me from my coma. I lope off to Steeeeeege, patiently letting the lower ability students dawdle before me.

8:15
Forty solid minutes of listening to Steege recite Ga-ra-ty word for word.

8:55
Get psyched if it's chem lab day or not psyched if it's gym day.

9:15
Gym class starts, typically an intense game of frisbee in the freezing cold with such savory figures as Prabhat, Mike Dire, an Scott Chen.

9:45
Get the hell out of gym, while ignoring the annoying-ass freshman on science team.

9:55
Get to chem early, and exchange pleasantries with B-ritter and Murphree.

9:58
Intense lightsaber duel with Akshaya.

10:03
Chemistry. Typically involves several high five moments and Murphree tooling on me or Andrew.

10:50
Walk dejectedly from AP chem, full aware that the next class is the riveting French!

10:55
Passing time ends.

10:58
Mme Arnoldy enters the classroom.

11:02
French class begins. This is a great class filled with bitches, Asian and white alike. All of them pretend that they hate French, but secretly I believe that around six of them don't. Don't tell anyone though. I'm sure they wouldn't want their closet liking of French class leaked out, of its excellent pacing, the intense speed of learning, the teacher's great style, and my blatant dripping sarcasm in this paragraph.

11:35
I self-activate and "je sors le cahier de maths et la calculatrice".

11:41
I exit French class and do the West Wing stride, shoving aside lower ability students. The trek is long but always wakes me up for...

11:44
BC Calculus. I get to the class and have an intense discussion of Fantasy School with Anandh and Albert, which usually involves me telling both or either of them to fuck off.

11:47
Wild Bill strides into classroom, dumps his stuff on his desk, and immediately begins to babble. There is a general call of "Yakking means no questions! So from important sheet..." My only class with Patrick Wu, but it more than makes up for everything else. "This is a double AP class." Damn straight, Bill... and for Sofac, that means double unnecessary comments.

12:36
BC Calculus ends. I walk out of the class and head with Jiang toward lunch, where I associate with such personages as Kevin Gaughan and Shashank. Fortunately, Andrew and Jiang (and to some extent, Albert and ... SCOTT CHEN!) save it from being a total failure of humanity. Or they try. 80% of the time, it's still a totally failure of humanity. Typically this period is spent playing Spades and telling Jiang every single answer on the Econ homework.

1:29
We wrap up the last game of Spades where I take four or five tricks on a blind nil bid.

1:30
I high-five random freshmen as they move down the hallways.

1:31
Economics. Typically a nice split of current events and Donaldson sitting on his stool. A relaxing, enjoyable way to end a day that will no doubt later involve 8 hours of memorization.

2:18
I split paths... on Monday, I head up to catch a ride from a Russian kid. I might run to an FBLA meeting or a Science team gatherup for some poker. And of course there's the option of taking the bus, something that I don't enjoy. But that's just me.

So what's new?
None of the above is news. This was actually the schedule I've been following since shortly after school started. I've learned over the last few weeks that Donaldson plays Resident Evil, and my grades in Steege and French have crept up to an even 80. Jiang's created a ghetto new forum. There's a link on my front page. I played the Tempest sonata terribly at a workshop with... Kevin Liou? 0_o

The reason I haven't updated much is that Chemistry has taken over my life. AP Chem Labs '05-'06? Hell yes!
