The Brock-Star!
I have known Brock for all of his life and as long as I can remember we have been good friends. He is a good talker and listener, and I have great conversations with him (I like speaking with him better than speaking with most adults). This boy has a mind like a steel trap, so be aware that anything said in front of him will be recorded and stored away. And don’t think you can get away with using large words to screen what you’re saying; Brock has a better vocabulary than most High School students. For example: It was Christmas time and Brock and I were driving around looking at Christmas decorations and lights. A neighbor had a Santa Sleigh in front their house and Brock commented, “The Sleigh is asymmetrical.” I thought I misheard him and asked him to repeat what he said. He did so. I then asked Brock if he knew what “asymmetrical” meant. He replied by saying “All the sides are not even.” I was astounded. I don’t think I learned what that word was until I was well into High School or even college.
Brock surprises me repeatedly by what is stashed in that head of his. We have a good time together playing video games, shooting stuff with wrist rockets, taking walks in the fields, and just paling around.
I miss and love him very much. Can’t wait to see him at Christmas.
