Rebecca J. Malandra
A passion to teach people and a communicator through design. For
the past 15 years, Rebecca has been working as a graphic designer.
In the late 90's, she found herself as a graphic design teacher.
Her experiences go back to when she was a child when she filled
her walls with artwork, murals and hanging mobiles. But something
about technology enticed her and started working as a desktop publisher
before hitting the age of 20.
Throughout
the years, she earned her BFA and worked for large companies like
UPS, Pearson Education, and BD. As a freelancer, she experienced
other areas of design such as advertising, web and multimedia, and
the newspaper industry. In 2001, Rebecca was a Winner of the Graphic
Design: USA – American Graphic Design Awards for Corporate
Poster Design.
Rebecca
decided to try teaching a graphic design class in a local computer
school in the late 90’s. It was a hidden passion that soon
extended her to teach in adult continuing education programs at
Clark University in Boston, Massachusetts and Farleigh Dickinson
University in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Today,
she is a packaging graphic designer for BD. As she finishes up her
graduate degree in Distance Education, she is building her portfolio
to include training modules that can be used for eLearning.
Rebecca
lives in Rockland County, New York with her husband Anthony and
her
dog Daisy.
