Poverty can be defined as the social and economic state of possessing fewer resources than required for providing oneself with the physical and conventional necessities of life such as having insufficient food, clothing, or shelter.

There are two main types of poverty:

  • RELATIVE POVERTY
  • ABSOLUTE POVERTY

RELATIVE POVERTY changes the life of the family or individual. Their lives are controlled. Relaitive poverty occurs when the community the family or individual live in, has a significantly higher income than they do. This forces their lifestyle to be much more restricted. They are often looked apon as powerless and socially excluded people.

ABSOLUTE POVERTY makes it extremely difficult for the family or individual to survive. They have an extreme lack of physical necessities. Many humans facing absolute poverty have no place to live. They often find it difficult to find proper food and hygiene.
