She studied architecture for a year at Mount Vernon College, became a model in New York City, then took a range of parts in films and television, and became well known through her role as Monica Geller in the acclaimed television series Friends (1994- ). Roles in feature films began with Down Twisted (1986), and include Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), Scream and its sequel (1996, 1998), and Commandments (1997). She married actor David Arquette in 1999, and they are expecting their first baby.
Some might say Monica is a little obsessive-compulsive, but really she just likes things in order - which actually makes her more of a control freak. Monica was an obese teen, which may have influenced her decision to become a professional chef. At her brother Ross's last wedding, Monica began an affair with mutual friend, Chandler. Now, the two are happily married and Monica hopes to some day start a family (as long as the kids aren't too, you know, messy).
