Backstreet Boys - Incomplete (Extended Version)
This extended version of Backstreet Boys' latest single took quite a few hours to edit. I kept messing around with the intro to get it just right. Originally it just had an extended intro, but I decided to throw the instrumental reprise in at the end to give it a little more kick. The intro was originally over 2 minutes long, but I decided it sounded a bit too repetitive and cut it down quite a bit -- perhaps a bit too much at first, until I decided to extended it slightly again. It was a complicated process in trying to get it to sound good! The instrumental sections are taken directly from the various instrumental segments on the DVD side of the 'Never Gone' DualDisc release. I captured the audio using Goldwave, set the audio levels to match the levels of the album version, and did my editing/mixing. I really like how the intro turned out (for the most part), especially how it flows back into the original version. It's a rather flawless flow. The reprise of the instrumental section at the end is cool as well. I didn't think it would work at first, but now I like it. In the end, if I had the full instrumental to work with rather than segments I could have probably made it better yet. But I can only do so much with the segments I have, and I think it came out quite well.
