A little about the thing you are playing on.

starting off with a little picture off the guitar, hope you can recognize it as
a guitar, painted it by my self you see.

Sometimes I will ask you to i.e drum the fourth string, then you should know that I mean the fourth counting upwards from the bottom.
Also I could say that should play that PIMA, by that I mean the way you use your fingers. every finger have a name.
Starting with your right hand it is as follows:

Thumb = pollex = P
Index finger = indecio = I
Middle finger = medius = M
Ring finger = anularis = A
(you allmost never use your pinkie)

therefrom the word PIMA
on your left hand your fingers are numbered from 1-5

Index finger = 1
Middle finger = 2
Ring finger = 3
Little finger = 4

Furthermore I can say that you should put your finger on the third fret. most classic guitars have nineteen frets. You count from the head of the guitar against the body. So if I say: put 1. finger on the seventh fret, fith string, you should know by now, precisely were to put your finger.
