How scarey I nearly had a heart attack today, I was eating my dinner, we were in a make shift fat yard at the front of our place near the road when an old icky car drove by, as it drove past it backfired. Not just a little one it was a deafening noise. I leapt in the air in panic and turned tail and galloped to the far end of the yard. I looked at Condor for help but he just kept on eating. Hey maybe it isn't as scarey as I first though, Condor doesn't care. Ohwell, I quickly went back to my dinner, I certainly don't want Condor eating it.

Grrrr Grrr Grrr at witches hats. My mummy has two huge ones amongst all the smaller ones. I use to like witches hats until one of the huge ones attacked me. Yes thats right IT ATTACKED ME!!!!!!! it was on the 25th March 2002. Mummy had just fed us yummy bread. I wanted more and there was no more, I pushed at the fence and mummy growled at me to stop pushing the fence. I backed up a step ready to turn and see if Condor had any left I could steal when I stood on the huge witches hat. I picked my back leg rigth up to try get out of its way and I pushed it over and when I put my foot down I put it in the witches hat. Helppppppppp, I lept abit then kicked the witches hat as hard as possible. HA!!!! That will teach you to mess with me my witches hat.

It happened today 27th March 2002. I was happily eating my hay, as fast as possible so I could grab some of Condor's aswell, when I looked up in shock at Splashes tree and watched as it crashed to the ground. I jumped in fear, but then watched in interest hoping more would fall, but none did.

I was put in the flaot today June 8th 2002 and Condor wasn't put in with me, Where are we going mummy, I want Condor to come with us????????? About half an hour late my mummy took me out of the float and we were behind a heap of factories. I spied 2 tiny little corrals and I wondered where the hell I was. It turned out I was at Peter Horobin Saddlery (click on Peter Horobin Saddlery link to visit his website). Not another saddle shop. My mummy brought me here to be saddle fitted again, sheesh first Bruce Smith now Peter Horobin. He was a nice man though he said I have beautiful eyes. Mummy hoped that my saddle could be made wider for my back, but oh no it was way way way way way too little for me now. Peter told my mummy that he coudn't make it fit, that the saddle I had - a stubbern, they cant have their gullets changed on them. So now my mummy is getting me a brand new saddle, and he is going to make it for me, wont I look spiffy in a new saddle. Unlike Bruce Smith who tried to make a saddle fit me when there was no way known that the saddle he tried would ever work, Peter told my mummy straight out and look now he has business from it. He also tried 2 saddles on my back, both were dressage saddles to show mummy how a saddle should fit, though he said both were a too small, but how that when my new one is made and it will be wider than the opnes he put on my back that the rider (my mummy) will sit in the correct part of the saddle, not like the old one where the seat has her sitting further to the back of the saddle. It will take 10 weeks to make - once done we will get a pic of it up on the saddle page. I will so look spiffy. Now finally mummy has found a saddler who knows what he is on about. The best part of this adventure was when I got home to Condor.

I had such a sore tummy last night Thursday 18th July 2002. I just wanted to be left alone waaaaaaaaaa my tummy was so sore I didnt even want to eat the yummy hay mummy put out for me. Mummy walked me around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around for over an hour and suddenly my tummy didn't feel so sore and I did a big poo. Not long after that I felt as good as new and I pulled my mummy over to my hay, yummmyyyyyyyyyyyy it was delicious. I'm so glad mummy took my sore tummy away. She told me not to drink the dam water anymore as it doesn't agree with my tummy, so this morning she fenced it off so I couldn't get to it. She has seen me drink the water before and she knows I always play with it when I drink it and I take in a lot of air with the water and then later my tummy always feels sore. I can't get to the dam anymore that makes me sad cus I do love playing in the water but atleast I wont get a sore tummy anymore.

Gosh was it windy last night I thought I was going to blow away to another country it was blowing so hard. We stood out in the open, Condor pretended to be brave but I think he was shaking in his socks really. We had trees falling down and next doors shed roof came to visit our back paddock and our shed roof tried its hardest to go on holiday. We are still alive and kicking though and that is all that matters!!!!! I hope it never blows that hard again.

WHOOPPIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my mummy has finally got me a jinker to pull, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I am so excited my mummy told me all about the new jinker. It is in lovely condition and I will so look after it for my mummy I wont kick it mummy I promise. It is a long shaft break which is perfect for me as I am only young and I havent been in a jinker since I was broken in. Mummy looked at it on 3rd August 2002. Then she looked at another on the 7th August 2002 and she told me it was the ugliest looking jinker she had ever seen it was rusting and falling apart and they wanted heaps more money than the one my mummy is buying which was reccommended by a coach builder. Whoopie I cant wait until my mummy brings it home for me to try out on the 24th August 2002. We are going to have lots of fun together and I will try my hardest to teach Condor to pull my jinker too, hee hee I don't think he will appreciate me if I do that he wont love me anymore if I try. Everything is coming at once my saddle is nearly ready for me too, gosh it is like christmas has come early for my Whooppiiieeeeeeeeee mummy.

Golly Golly Gosh did I rub my eyes in wonder today the 24th August 2002. I couldnt belive my eyes when I saw my new JINKER!!!!!! WOO HOO. I was a bit scared of it at first and Condor raced over to me telling me he was here to protect me but he was just as scared. I cant wait until I get to try it out for the first time. I loveeeeeeeeeeeee pulling cartsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be the best jinker pony in Australia you just watch

Yippy I got to take mummy for a drive in my new jinker today the 2nd September 2002, She had a lady come out to give us a lesson (Give mummy a lesson I don't need lessons I know what to do) and whoopie I got to drive my mummy all around the paddock It was so much fun I loved it I loved it I loved it, I missed pulling a jinker and now I have my very own to pull. Silly Condor wanted to follow me and the jinker around everywhere so he was put in the fat yard. I got a bit frightened in the first trot I had almost forgotten how to pull in the trot and tried to whoosh off but I only did that once before I remembered that I can pull the jinker while trotting and I was ok then. I am so happy now I had the happiness beaming from my face everyone could see how much I love pulling my jinker.

I got a massage today the 23rd September 2002. I will be getting one every week. My mummy's friend who is the lady giving my mummy her driving lessons and yippy I had another driving lesson today and I was sooooooooooo good I only took off once in a funny canter and mummy had to pull me left to stop me running into the fence, I didn't mean too but I have to get used to pulling the jinker again and I thought I needed to go fast but then I realised that I could pull it at a trot and we did lots of trots around obstacles after that. But anyway, my mummy's friend Leanne is doing a course on equine massage and she is going to use me as one of her case studies, Mummy will ask her next week if she can use Condor too hopefully she will do him. Poor me, I was sore all over, up my neck and along my back even my girth muscles and my poll and face muscles. Mummy doesnt think it was so much soreness as it was tensness causing the trouble, sore is just mummy's way of saying it as - if you are tense you feel the pain more, if you get what she means. Anyway Leanne was telling my mummy that every horse will be sore somewhere its because of the muscles tensing up and they eventually cant untense alone, she will be doing me once a week for awhile then I is will only need to be massaged once every month or so. I was certainly tense you could see the muscles popping back in to place, well mummy said thats what it looked like when my muscles suddenly relaxed. What she does is crosshair massage. I think that's what she called it, it is different to a chiropractor who doesnt even touch half the muscles she works across the muscle and a chiropractor works either with or against the muscle I can't remember which way now. She also told mummy that the structure of a horse's back makes it impossible for the back to go out, any soreness will be muscle soreness and that us horses should never be massaged more than once a week either. You should have seen the way she was doing it, especially trying to get my shoulder muscles to relax. Mummy thought Leanne was going to lose her fingers in my skin, then whoosh the mucle popped out (Well thats what it looks like it was doing to my mummy's eyes, though popping wouldn't be the word but you get my mummy's drift) and I relaxed my shoulder muscles with that poppy whoosh. I didn't like the idea of the massage at first but I loved it by the end, I can't wait until next week.

I gave mummy a hair raising drive today the 30th September 2002. Leanne came out ot give mummy another lesson. I was eager to go and wanted to trot from the start but I was being very good about slowing down when I broke her pace. Then there was a huge bang in the quarry next to us it was such a scarey noise and whoosh I took off. We flew halfway around the paddock until mummy finally unfroze and stopped me. Mummy managed to get me to dodge the jumps. It wasnt until Leanne the instructer came running after us calling out to me to stop that mummy found her voice and when mummy started telling me to whoa up I stopped like a good girl. Leanne hopped in with mummy then and took control as I was ignoring the right rein, my bit is too soft for driving and I wasn't really listening to it. I was broken in with the Wilson Snaffe and now I am using and soft bit the French Snaffle with the double link in the middle and it is quite a thick bit aswell. The denstist told mummy the thicker they are the softer they are. It was the only one mummy could get at the time as I needs a 6 inch bit, but I listen to it well when riding. The shop who is doing my saddle has one six inch bit which is alot thinner than the one I am using for driving at the moment. Mummy is going to look at buying it and then with my old Wilson Snaffle that I used when my mouth was littler, my mummy's dad (grandpa hee hee) will take it to work and take the extra rings off and then weld them onto the new bit so it will be like a driving bit. Once Leanne hopped in the jinker she took the reins and started teaching me to take the right rein, boy did mummy hold on tight when I got excited and tried to take off a couple of times again, but Leanne had me stopped pretty quickly waa no fair. We were wizzing around barrels and trees in tight circles and all sorts off stuff as well as going over tyres and witches hats. Mummy was worried we were going to hit something and whoosh all be hurt. I did really well and Leanne said you watch by the end of this with both our weights too pull and with the fast trot we were doing and when I was being good she let me canter a bit, she said that I will be pooped and will want to stop by myself. She really believed that Iwould stop, well she doesn't know me in harness does she :). Mummy said no I wont, I wont give up and I didnt even at the end with sweat pouring off me I would have happily kept going fully pelt if I could have for another couple of hours. Mummy got to walk me around for the last few minutes and I wanted to keep trotting and mummy had to keep slowing down to a walk but I didnt try to take off again I wanted to do what mummy asked and make her pleased with me. Mummy hopes she never have another drive like that, not until she wants to wizz around obstacles anyway.

I got my new saddle this afternoon 1st October 2002. Peter was saddle fitting another horse somewhere near me so he rang mummy and told her he was bringing the saddle around to try on as he knew mummy wanted it tried on before she took it home incase I had bulked out too much in the time it took to make it and I was now too wide for it. It fitted me like a glove and it was quite comfy on my back even though I don't want a saddle waaaaa who needs a saddle when you can pull a jinker. You can tell which I prefer to be doing. When mummy has taken a picture of me in my new saddle she will put it in the Good Fitting Saddles page which is part of our Saddle Fitting section of the website.

Just like Condor I am writing this the same color as all the yummy grass that we are writing. It is soooooooooooo thick and tasty and it is everywhere in my paddock that I look. I love yummy lush green grass and today 13th October 2002 mummy put me in that lush grass with Condor and it should last us a couple of months easily, if not longer.

Today 17th October 2002 my mummy gave me another ride, I have had about 5 rides now and about 5 lessons in the jinker gosh I am starting to do lots of things now. I was being naughty at first and didn't want to listen to the reins and poked my head all around ignoring the reins so mummy made me walk and walk and walk while having me walk around barrels and between jumps and in circles and figure of eights until I finally listened to the reins. Then mummy put me into a trot so again mummy had me trotting around jumps and in circles on both reins encouraging me with her legs to listen to the reins which I finally did for most of the time and when I stopped mumy put me into small circles again. Finally I trotted past Grandpa (What we call the next door neighbours grandpa, we call him that too) who suddely dropped a huge piece of iron just as I was going past, I jumped in fright and took off we cantered a few strides before mummy stopped me. I was scared but mummy didn't halt me she only slowed me into a trot and made me keep trotting telling me that I was silly to be scared of grandpa. She then walked me and he dropped his iron again and I jumped but mummy halted me that patted me telling me I was a goose. She then made me walk over past Grandpa's place where I was so glad he had dissappeared and then after walking past she made me trot by, I peered over waiting for him to drop something again but he didn't. Mummy then walked me around for a few minutes and hopped off me. I nickered happily to her as I was happy again. I always peer around and nicker happily to mummy at the end of either a drive or a ride if I am in a good mood, If I am in a bad mood that day and don't want to do what mummy asks and she makes me then I refuse to look at her and nicker to her when we finish. So even though I didn't really want to do what I was doing today and I got a big fright I was still in a happy mood as I did end up enjoying the work I had been doing. Every ride I have now I remember more and more of what I learnt all those many months ago. I am such a clever girl.

Waaaaa what did I ever do to Condor, he is a nasty nast nasty old man. Mummy put him in the paddock after riding him so I went over to him to say hello and he punched me in the nose with his front foot, waaaaaa he socked me for no reason, I don't think I love Condor anymore, boo hoo.

My farrier is a silly billy, cus I am such a good girl for him now and let him do my feet he tells my mummy that we are great mates as when she isn't around we sit back together and drink beer. He then asked what the little plastic shovel and rake were on the ground. Mummy told him they were her nieces and that I use them to make sand castles so he said he will remember that next time we go drinking beer together and we can make sand castles aswell.

I was a naughty girl today 25th October 2002. Mummy brought Benny and Shelley into our paddock while she was walking them around, they are mummy's dogs. Mummy didn't think I would worry about them being in my paddock since I had yummy knee high grass but no I don't want Shelley in my paddock so I trotted daintily closer and then went in for the kill I turned at her and kicked her. Shelley yelped as I got her and she ran off really fast but I kept kicking out then mummy wolloped me on the rump with the lead she was carrying. Ouch the hurt I stopped kicking and started eating the grass again. Have to let Shelley know that THIS IS MY PADDOCK.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mummy forgot to move the molasses bucket and today 10th November 2002 I finally worked out how to open it to get to the molasses, simply push the bucket over and the molasses dribbles out. Condor help me share the molasses, we got about a fifth of a bucket of molasses to dribble onto the ground before mummy realised what I had done, yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I didn't get much of a harness lesson today 11th November 2002. I got to pull mummy around 2 laps of the paddock and then my girth broke. So we had to stop our driving lesson there but then Leanne the instructor said they can do me from the ground. So I started with some long reining for the next half an hour. Boy did Leanne make me work, she showed mummy how to lunge me the harness way and now mummy can see why I always take off when she lunges her as the you shouldn't lunge a hanress horsey with the second line around their bum, specially me as I get pre occupied by it and by the nemd mummy had me working really really well and I was really using my back end when working and I loved it and nickered happily to my mummy at the end of the lunging to let her know. Then we long reined around the paddock and Leanne made lots of noises that I didn't like at first but by the end I ignored them like a good harness horsey should. I was such a good girl and I love working, mummy has me in full work now 5 to 6 days a week. Phew it can be hard but I love it so much.

I didn't have a harness lesson today 25th November 2002 as my harness saddle is still in being fixed, but I had a riding lesson instead. Leanne came out and my mummy saddled me up, Leanne took my reins so I stopped dead and shook, what is going on mummy, don't let Leanne ride me, NOOOOOOOO. Mummy then hopped on me, phew good old mummy, we walked around, then did some trotting. Mummy hopped off me and then Leanne took me again. Noooooooooooo, I refused to move so Leanne brought the mounting crate over to me. She hopped on me and I put my ears back. she walked me around and when she tried to trot I ran sideways straight at the fence, Leanne pulled me around and kicked me to get away from the fence so I started my famous bucking bronco act, waaaaaaaaaa she didn't fall off. She made me trot around and around and I put some little bucks into the mix, but finally I listened to her and I remembered what I had learnt from mummy. By the end of the lesson I was cantering all over the place without bucking first and I trotted over the trotting poles like an old pro, finally guess what I can do everyone I can now do half passes, woo hoo, and I can do shoulder ins, yippyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Then mummy hopped on me at the end and we walked and trotted and cantered around and she took me over the poles and I go over them without hurrying like I used to when I was little. I can also canter on the correct leg, I do that automatically, I am better at it than Condor. But when mummy first went to canter a bird flew out of the tree at me and I leapt sideways in shock, mummy just gathered up my reins and made me canter and I cantered straight away. I realised the bird wasn't going to hurt me and I love doing things for my mummy. When Leanne took me over the poles I would throw my head up over the last two, but with mummy I kept my head stretched and low over the whole lot. I am starting to learn that it is harder work when I hollow my back, than when I move with myself gathered and my hind hocks engaged. Once I move using my whole body I feel great woo hoooooooooooooooo, I could go all day!!!!! I am well on my way now to becoming a dressage horsie just like Condor used to be. Leanne also told my mummy that I am an extremely fast learner, though mummy knew that already.

Hey all mummy finally knows what colour I am. My color is classified as a black dun, so everyone I am a black dun, woo hooooooooooooo, mummy thought I was a black brown but I cant be because of the colour of my nose and flank, that classifies me as a black dun. She found this out on the 25th November 2002.

Again today 9th December 2002 Leanne told my mummy that I am a really quick learner. I got taught lots today and am getting into the swing of doing half passes at the trot and finally I am starting to use my tummy muscles and work properly, I even learnt today that it is much easier on me to work with my head on the bit and not up in the air looking at the clouds. At the end of the lesson mummy got on and asked Leanne all sorts of questions and even got me to do a half pass for her and she did circles without me falling in or poking my nose in all the directions but the dirtection its suppossed to be. I also nickered to my mummy at the end of the lesson not once, but twice, to show I was extra happy with what I learnt today as you all know if I dont like what I have done or play up and just generally disobey mummy and then she makes me really do stuff I just dont want to do at all, which is very rare then I refuse to nicker to mummy at the end of the ride, I refuse to even look at her. But golly I am clever, now four people have told my mummy that I am an extremely quick learner, but mummy already knew that as I come from a smart family. My dam was a quick learner and I take after my dam. My breeder always told my mummy that if I was half as smart as my dam that I would go along way in this world, mummy thinks I am as smart as my dam if not smarter.

My mummy says I am following in Condor's footsteps with my dressage, golly I love doing dressage. I didn't really want to do it at the start of our ride the today 12th December 2002 and kept dropping my right hip when we were circling left, which I don't do as much now but still tend to do, its a habbit I guess. After awhile mummy decided to try some half passes with me, suddenly I remember how to use my tummy mucles and my rear end and work on the bit and it all came together and me and mummy walked and trotted all around like showies while Grandpa next door watched through his window. I bet he was shocked by what I was doing as he always in the past tended to watch the rides in which I went around with my head in the air or bucked and carried on or tried to take off on mummy, now he is seeing me do what a good trained horsie does, I hope he is as proud of me as my mummy is.

Mummy finally did it she sacked Richie as he didn't bother showing up to do our feet for 2 days in a row - december 20th and 21st 2002. Him and mummy had a misunderstanding on the phone, when mummy got through to him on day one (20th) he complained about his poor, poor, poor, poor, poor back that was sore, sore, sore and then said he would come the next morning, mummy said that is fine and great he is coming the next morning as my feet are long and the shoes are crooked and I really need my feet done as I am stumbling, Richie took it the wrong way and said that mummy could always get another farrier, she said no she wanted Richie, he made the appointment to do our feet and again didnt turn up so mummy tried to ring all day and he had his phone off, though twice it was engaged and then turned off again, so mummy thought bugger it and looked up the yellow pages and started ringing around and Mr Plant was the first farrier who answered his phone and he made an appointment and did our feet today the 24th December 2002. When he asked mummy who the farrier was she had been using and mummy told him he laughed and said Richie was like that with all his customers, so mummy wasnt the only one getting the cold shoulder, he was just lazy. But when I saw the new farrier rock up and get out I thought "Where's Richie? Oh No what is going on mummy?" The new farrier Mr. Plant, (don't you all just love his name) did Condor first and then he did me, I was soo good I stood like a lamb and didn't shake in fear once and even let mummy catch me, I didn't run away like I usually do when I spot Richie coming. I like my new farrier he is an old farrier, semi retired and he only does the quiet horses now so I was nice and quiet for him and he did all 4 of my feet with no problems and he didn't grunt and groan like a past farrier his age use to do. At the end I shoved my head at him and he gave me lots of pats and I didnt get scared once, Mummy I want you to keep getting this farrier he is nice nice nice!!!!!!!! And mummy believes Richie never ever planned on turning up on the day he made the second appointment and thats what turned mummy off him all together.

Mummy took me for a New Years Day Trail Ride today obviously it is the 1st Januarry 2003, HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!!! It was fun we went all around the roads clip clopping, I wanted to trot but mummy said no I am not allowed to trot on the roads. Mummy was very proud of me as I wasn't scared once and I had lots of fun and I can't wait until our next trailride.

I am such a lucky lucky lucky girl I have 2 carts to pull around now, well one is a Jinker and the other is a Dray, the Dray arrived yesterday to my paddock 3rd January 2003. I want scared and I didnt run away no motter what Condor tries to tell you I was just running over to him to tell him to come and look at my new Dray. Condor told me that it isnt mine at all but I don't believe him, I have two carts now woohoo and I wont listen to Condor when he tells me it isnt mine I will just dream about my first time between the shafts of the Dray.
