Description
The striped Bull Dog is a very good community fish. This fish is territorial with its own kind, but if there is plenty of space, can get along with other plecos. This fish comes from the cool mountian streams of columbia where the waters are rich with oxygen. This fish would do very well in an aquarium with strong current and other fast swimming fish.
Requirments:
I recommend a tank no smaller than 10 gallons for this fish. The water must be rich in Oxygen. This fish does well in cooler water. Lots of hiding places are required, as this fish will readily cram itself into any corner it can find.
Diet
The Bull Dog is an omnivore, but does a fine job at keeping the tank clean. I have never observed this fish taking interest in driftwood. Below is a list of foods your pleco may like:

Zucchini
Algae wafers
Algae
Shrimp pellets
Spinach
Romaine lettuce (NOT Iceburg)
Live blood worms
Fresh chopped earthworms
Beefheart

Sexing
Males tend to have larger broader heads than the females.
Breeding
The male digs or finds a cave, and the female lays her eggs inside the cave. The male then guards the eggs until the fry hatch.
