Cold Weather
It is now freezing here. Ughh.

I will not retire and grow old in a place that gets this cold. I want the warm dry air in my later years. I hate the cold.

..an additonal note about prehistoria.
They say that it is a fact that the basic periodic elements are a constant and that MATTER cannot be destoyed. That means that the Hydrogen, lithium, oxygen, carbon, etc that was floating around the earth, made up water molecules and formed the icecaps millenia ago, are the same exact elements that are around us today. It's strange to think that as I was born, my first breath could have contained some of the same oxygen atoms as the last exhalation of the last dinosaur, or even literally some of the same elements that created the first rainstorm on earth. I guess that there are theories about panspermia and changing variables and elements in the world or the remanufacture of oxygen, but it's still strange to think about.

Sickness Sucks
I don't think anything can put a bigger damper on progress, ambition or motivation than physical illness. As you may guess, I am ill.
I hate being sick, but it is worse when you have a laundry list of things to get done, deadlines and schedules to keep and people relying on you. The only way through it is to take doses of medication and continue. It is the frustration and reality that regardless of modern wonders, the common cold or flu that slows me down is the same one that told my ancestor to stay in his cave and go hunting another day.

A new year... big woop.

It is now 2004. Hmmm...
I don't have much to say about it except that it is also Thursday. I'm not sure which description contains the most relevance. Resolutions?

Yeah I have some, but if you only make goals once a year then it will likely take you multiple lifetimes to accomplish anything. Resolutions change by the day, minute, moment and yes, even by year. But I'm really not sure why a yearly resolution is needed. Does anyone actually remember a previous year's resolution by the beginning of the next year? Can you recall a resolution and actually match it up with the year that you made it? Did it change the course of your life?

I have resolutions. I will keep them to myself.

Christmas is over // Home for the Holidays
Well, went out of town for Christmas and visited family. It's always a little weird going home after having lived away for so long. It's hard to find your place.
It is good to see everyone, but it always seems too short and very temporary. I guess theres really no way to live away from home and then blend right back in like you were never gone. It's a strange feeling. I guess it's like if you had a familiar restaurant or bar that you went to all of the time. You know all of the regulars, all of the staff, every event, personality and story. Then you leave for 12 years.

When you come back, it's still the same place. A lot of the people have changed, some of the decor has changed. Some people remember you, some do not. Some remember more than you do and you can't recall...

It's the SAME, but then again it's not.

Saddam Capture // Public Reaction
I was just on an AOL message board. Reading through some of the thousands of comments about the capture of Saddam Hussein. There are opinions about George W. Bush and even calls for HIS arrest. Then there is back-biting and poking between the political left and right. Some, educated retorts and rebuttals, others... Jerry Springer.
Some comments are very cunning and make you think about the perspective of the author and others make you think "does this person have opposing thumbs?" I just don't get the spite from the liberal perspective. Joyous day of Saddams capture, but then they think... "oh crap, first there was Bush's visit to Iraq for Thanksgiving and now this... Quick, attack ferociously! Stab blindlessly into the dark!"

I'm done here. Just interesting.

Link Problem solved
Wow, I don't know what the problem was, but this blog has been unaccessable from the link on my About Me page. I just got it to work so now maybe someone might find their way in here. I'm not sure how people post to their blogs "daily". I just don't have that much to say. I have my expressive moments, but I need an audience for the immediate feedback.

More blog
No one has visited my blog, so I am writing to myself, but maybe it will be therapeutic. I have my web site looking fairly decent now, but can't seem to link directly to my blog and I'm not sure why. I will be investigating shortly. Unfortunately, I have a lot to do around the house, so it will have to wait. SOMEONE please post a comment. Humor me.

By the way, please visit dixiblog.com and harrass the author. I find her to be very annoying. Her misery is my joy. Any irritation that you could cause her would be great.
