    NEWS:

Leafs GM John Ferguson JR was busy at the trade deadline on tuesday, and it took a while for him to put his mark on this Leafs team, but defenitly made his mark picking up Chad Kilger off Waivers, Free agent Calle Johansson, and his most notable a trade sending a 4th round pick in 2005 to Carolina for Veteran Forward Ron Francis. Francis is the 4th leading scorer of all time in the NHL, and all three guys will add nothing but good things to an already veteran Locker room. Ferguson has added 3 players with a combined 2460 points, and 3315 games experience to a very good looking Toronto Lineup.

At the Leafs annual skills competition. Toronto up and coming tough guy Nathon Perrott got to shine on winning the fastest skater competition with a time of 13.998 seconds and also won the hardest shot competition with a 100.3 MPH slapshot. Team white won the overall competition, but the children were the real winners as the event raised $200,000 dollars for Go Kids Go, NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund, and Hockey fights Cancer. Since it's inception the skills challenge has raised 1.2 Million Dollars for local Charity's.

Mats Stajan was recalled on Tuesday back to the big club, and again shows why he should stay with the big club from now on as he chipped in on a 5-0 beating of the panthers with a goal and an assist. Stajan has 13 goals and 13 assists this season with the big club. This is my Molson Canadian Stat of the day. To check out the really cool I AM CANADIAN site click on the Molson sign.
