Facing the Phantom

She sat pondering the unknown, seeking what needed to be sought,

A kaleidoscope of colors were surrounding her thoughts.

What was the thing that caused her great fear,

That drifted unyielding from year to year?

Success was the goal, the thing she desired,

She muddled through the muck and the mire.

As she cleared her mind and focused with simplicity,

There belies the answer, with no duplicity.

Fear of failure was what she feared most,

Now facing that phantom, she conquered the ghost.

The skies above seemed brighter that day,

For in her heart, she had found her way.
