more from the back porch...
josh says they're merely functional - the
backs of houses. all pipes and wires and i would love to sit on your back
porch because I think the mechanics of it are just so handsome.
i know you lock your door (since you've
locked it after me so many times) forgive me for looking so feverishly for the
key, it used to be under the shell but we've grown apart so much since
then...what is it that we keep back there that we don't want the world to see?
unmanicured lawns? an overturned grill? is this what we're ashamed of? Unscooped
piles of dog shit? Everyone has this.
but maybe we're not ashamed at all...maybe its just
something we're so used to that we don't think of it in any other
way.
though some people keep gardens we would never
know existed, if they didn't invite us in.
