Here's how the slideshow windows work
The top-right corner has four buttons:
Back-one, Play/Pause, Forward-one, and Exit.
Clicking on the green Play button
starts an auto-advancing slideshow.
Clicking on a photo or on the
Forward-one button advances manually to the next photo.
At the
top-left corner, you can click to toggle between three views:
the Slide Show, and two thumbnail views.
