My Namibian AdventureMy name is Daniel Lockyer and I have been selected as a venturer on Raleigh’s 2003 Expedition.

I have chosen to go to Namibia as a volunteer for 11 weeks from 7th July – 21st September 2003, I am expecting to help build a school, to participate in a conservation project for native wildlife, and I also expect to trek through the remote areas of Namibia. Raleigh Projects are endorsed by the National Government of Namibia. |
I will go to Namibia during my summer break as an English/Classical Civilisation student at Glasgow University, before I embark on my final Honours degree year. As you may imagine I am very excited at being given this opportunity to be involved in such a worthy cause, and I am currently training very hard in preparation for my expedition. |
I have already undertaken a number of sponsorship events but expect main fundraising activity to be in April 2003. I would like to raise the profile of Namibia at these events. I am also running in the London Marathon and I am hoping i will raise money from this too |
