Character's psychology: She reveals to have scorn for Eyro for the reason that he's a hybrid. As a full blooded alien, she feels superior to her husband, who's also weaker than her own brother. Toward the latter, she seems as cold as with others and there's some bitter in her eyes when she looks at him. That's because he accepted to have her married with any hybrid at all, without caring any further about it. Hating the idea of being married to some weakling, Fylee is torn by her pride and the realization that Eyro is actually a great fighter. The fact that he doesn't beg for her love or push her away (he just doesn't seem to care) also makes her dwell with her feelings. She doesn't love him, but can't really hate him either. In fact, he happens to be a good husband for her: he doesn't bring shame to her name and doesn't burden her at all. She should be happy, but her pride forces her to deny it constantly. Despite her never-caring attitude, she would be hurt if Eyro was hurt or killed at the war. The only way she allows herself to express her feelings is sex; it unites her with Eyro yet lets a wide emotionnal and mental space between them.
In the end, Fylee is a typical example of "too proud to love". She wants love but is scared of it. It's not something she grew up to have; she grew up to be married, which is against her independant and strong mind. This inner confusion leads her to be upset and harsh all the time, yet she'll gladly have sex with Eyro.
