Note: Part Six, Seven, Eight, Nine are all the same night. SO Chris doesn’t know about DX, DX don’t know Steph’ preggers… etc etc

Part Eight

"We’ll be fine on our own." Insisted Matt. "The three of us, with weapons will be fine."

"Um, it’s only the two of you." Replied Mother Jayne, standing up and crossing her arm. "Lita is in no condition to anywhere."

"I thought we decided we were taking someone else, a third person?" Matt appealed to Jeff, who double-checked the round in his gun. "We did. Helms is coming with us. Lita is staying here."

"Fine then." Matt gave in sulkily and slunk out of the room. Jackie and Molly exchanged looks. Raven changed the subject. "Anyone heard from Jericho?"

"Got a transmission from him earlier." Edge grinned. "He’s with Stephanie and Linda."

"How are they?" asked Test in concern. Several years ago, he’d been hired by Vince to protect the McMahon women from a stalker. Edge’s grin grew even wider. "Linda’s got complete faith in us, Chris got it together and actually proposed and Stephanie is pregnant."

"Oh that’s wonderful!" exclaimed someone. Rocky raised his infamous eyebrow. "Is it? I’m not so sure."

"What do you mean?" asked Test.

"Unless something drastic happens within the next month or so, then there’s going to be trouble. You know the RTC’s stance on unwed mothers. Even if Stephanie somehow manages to keep the baby, then they’ll probably harass her and we all know what the RTC are like with harassing our loved ones."

Those present all nodded thoughtfully, but Rocky wasn’t finished. "Then there’s the emotional side. Stephanie is gonna need Jericho at her side for at least the next 18 months as she goes through pregnancy and raising a child. Jericho’s gonna miss out on things like the first word, the first step… and that kid is gonna grow up knowing Daddy as a man who comes sporadically at night, then leaves in the morning. It’s not fair to the kid."

The silence that greeted Rocky’s remarks was deafening. Eventually little Spike Dudley spoke. "You’re being kinda pessimistic aren’t you?"

"No, I’m being realistic."

"And I’m running late!" exclaimed Jeff, looking around. "Where’d Matt go?"

"I think he went to check on Lita." Replied Helms. Jeff nodded. "We’ll be back before dawn."

He disappeared with out ceremony. Raven exhaled. "This is a bad idea."

"What is baby?" Molly asked concernedly. He shook his head. "Just got a bad feeling about this. It could be an ambush."

"It’s the perfect strategy." Reflected the Undertaker. "We’re still reeling from what happened two night ago. We won’t expect them to take action again so quickly. They’re probably aware that Mick is really on our side, so they know the Hardyz will trust a message that’s signed by him. It’s perfect really."

"Well I’m going to fuck up this ‘perfect’ plan." Announced Jackie, standing up. "Who’s with me?"

"I am." Replied Helms, looking over at Mother Scattia. "Will you be okay here tonight?"

"I’ll be fine." She nodded. "Anyone else going?"

"We will." D-von, Bubba and Spike Dudley all stood up.

"If we’re headin’ for a brawl, then you ain’t goin without me." Added a final voice. The entire room looked up in surprise. A grin crossed Rocky’s face. "Good to see ya again Austin."

"Good to be seen." Stone Cold Steve Austin grinned back. "I was with Deb when the news came through. Headed straight over, thought I’d see if I could get in on the ass whooping. Weapons?"

Everyone pointed towards the cellar door. Smirking, Austin left the room, only to reappear a few minutes later with what would only be described as a big ass gun. "We’d better head off. You can tell me what the hell is happening on the way."
