April 13th

"Hunter!" Stephanie hurried into her husband's locker room without knocking. "Hunter, are you in here?"

"Steph! Not that I'm complaining but can you knock next time?" Hunter had just stepped out of the shower and had only just managed to grab a towel to hide his nudity. Stephanie went a deep shade of red. "Whoa! Sorry! I'll just wait outside."

"No, it's fine, but can you just…" He made a circular motion with his hand. Still apologizing profusely Stephanie turned and faced the wall. A thought crossed her mind. "You know, you haven't got anything I haven't seen before. Unless it's pierced."

"I swear, you spend way too much time with Lydia." Hunter shook his head as he quickly pulled on some pants. "I've been meaning to ask, how did yesterday go?"

"I really don't wanna talk about it." Steph replied sadly. "It was just… it was brutal. It was painful, it was horrible and I just… it was bad."

"I'm sorry." Now dressed, Hunter gently turned Stephanie around and gave her a hug. "Are you gonna be all right?"

"Yes. No. Maybe." Stephanie hugged him back, grateful to have such a strong - both physically and emotionally - persona at her side. He rubbed her back as she rested her head on his shoulder. They'd built up an extremely close friendship since they'd gotten 'married' and although Hunter knew his feelings for Stephanie were stronger than friendship, he hadn't managed to figure out exactly what they were yet. "It'll be fine honey. Just don't let him get to you."

"It's not that easy Hunter." Stephanie sighed. "You know that."

"Yeah." He replied, resting his head on top of hers for a brief second. "Want me to change the subject?"

"Please do." The moment over, they stepped apart, but without any of the usual awkwardness that usually occurs when two people share a moment of an intensely personal nature. Hunter ran a hand through his hair. "We still don't have a Women's Fashion Coordinator and Michelle finishes tonight. Lydia volunteered to do it until we find someone, but she had that smile on her face and with her sense of humor the ho's would come out dressed as nun's or something equally horrendous."

"God she's impossible." Muttered Stephanie. "And actually that problem is solved. I ran into someone yesterday who is perfect for the job. I already hired her anyway."

"Oh?" Hunter raised a curious eyebrow. Steph grinned. "I'll just get her."

Stephanie headed out of the room in search of Modina. They'd talked until late into the night about Chris and any possible problems he was likely to cause. Mo had stated that if she could do anything to prevent Chris from causing trouble, she'd come on the road with them, which had lead Stephanie to invite her to travel with her, expenses paid. Mo would have none of that. It was another half an hour before they reached an agreement.

Since Stephanie needed to find a new Women's Fashion Coordinator and Mo was getting restless at the Yellow Submarine, Steph simply offered the job to Mo, who'd accepted the position. It was a win-win situation for both women and - as Stephanie reflected a little smugly - tipped the scales a little her favour against Chris Jericho.

She heard Mo before she saw her. "No, no, no, no, NO! Are you men insane? Argh, if you want somethin done properly, get a woman to do it!"

"But-" A male voice protested as Stephanie headed towards the argument. Mo sounded furious. "No buts! Gentlemen, trust me, a real ho would never be able to afford to wear something like this, no matter how good she is at her craft!"

"Trust you to know something like that!" The last voice that Stephanie wanted to hear at that particular moment teased. She froze on the spot then shrank back against the wall as Mo replied "Lionheart! Fancy seein you here!"

"Lionheart?" One of the hoes snickered, looking at Chris. He shot an angry look at her and she shut up instantly. Mo laughed at him. "No hello for your Auntie Mo?"

"Hello Auntie Mo." He replied, feeling incredibly confused. Mo looked at the remaining hoes. "What the hell are you still doin here? Skedaddle! Go on, what are ya waitin for?"

Chris took a deep breath and tried to clear his head as the rest of the Godfather's employees waiting for approval of their outfits took off. "Modina, why aren't you busy running the Submarine?"

"Short attention span y'know? Neesya's in charge." Mo replied easily. "I've quit hookin - for now - and gone somewhat respectable."

"But what the hell are you doing here?" He asked helplessly, not understanding what was going on. Steph grinned, this was her cue. Taking a deep breath and holding her head high, she walked around the corner to wear Modina and Chris were talking.

"Ah Modina, here you are." She completely ignored Chris, a fact that didn't go unnoticed by the other two. He clenched his jaw and spoke directly to her. "Good evening Stephanie. Ready for tonight?"

"I am actually. Are you?" Steph replied, looking at him properly for the first time. It was obvious that he hadn't gotten much sleep, but to Stephanie, who could read him like a book, he looked like walking death. Her first instinct was to take him into her arms and make sure he was fine, but then she remembered some of the things he'd said yesterday and hardened her heart against him.

"What's not to be ready for?" Chris replied coldly. Despite the sleepless night spend regretting everything he'd said to Stephanie and his promise to himself to apologise to her, seeing her again had just brought back the almost violent feelings of betrayal and loss.

"Oh you never know." Steph replied blithely. "I see you've met our new Women's Fashion Coordinator."

"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" He threw Mo an angry glare and stepped towards Stephanie. "And just when the hell did this happen?"

"Oh settle down Lionheart." Mo put her hand on his chest and pushed him away. "It was only decided... oh about 12 hours ago. Leave her alone."

Chris glared at Modina, then looked at Stephanie and shook his head. "Now that would be the simple solution wouldn't it?"

Mo waited until he was walking away then made a rude gesture at his back. Stephanie tried not to laugh. "Modina!"

"Oh, like you weren't thinkin it!" The older woman protested. Steph started laughing. "Fine, I was thinking it! Next time do it while he's watching."

"I really don't think so!" Mo laughed, linking her arm through Stephanie's. "Now, I wanna meet this stud muffin husband of yours."

"Damn girl!" Was Mo's greeting to Stephanie when she caught up with her after the show. "Is it true what they say?"

"What's that?" Stephanie asked wearily and warily - she knew Mo's sense of humour too well. Mo grinned mischievously. "Big noses, big -"

"Stop right there!" Steph held up a hand. "It's not like that."

"Maybe it should be." replied Mo, glancing around. "I know that you're still in love with Chris. Hell, he's still in love with you too."

"Did he actually say that?" Steph asked in shock. Modina nodded. "Even if he hadn't, I know the little brat too well. It's obvious you two were made to be together. But maybe your time with Chris is over. Maybe… I can't believe I'm sayin this, but maybe, you should move on."

"I tried that." Stephanie reminded her as they walked through the arena. "It ended in me getting married to Hunter remember?"

"Well it could be worse y'know." Remarked the other woman. "You could married to a man who ain't completely infatuated with you."

"What?"

"Are you completely blind? Are those friends of yours completely blind? Speakin of which, where are the terrible two?"

"They're playing house. Edge and Christian bought the house the four of them used to live in. Lyd and Teg are busy decorating and setting the place up." Steph replied, shaking her head. Once again, the Casa was the home of the Fearsome Four - or Scary Six, if they included little Jason and Lucilla in that equation. "They'll be back for Raw. But that's irrelevant. What are you talking about?"

"Your hubby. Steph, you've got him wrapped around your little finger. The way he defended you tonight... and against your ex no less." Mo shook her head and sighed as they reached the car they were sharing. "Honey, I'm gonna tell ya somethin for nothin. True love is fuckin rare. Most of us never find it or anything that even comes close. You had the bad luck to find it in your first love, so now you expect every love to match up to that. It ain't gonna happen."

"What exactly are you suggesting?" Stephanie asked slowly. Modina sighed. "You and Chris are never goin to be able to get it back together. There's too much anger and distrust. I really can't believe I'm sayin this, but you have a wonderful husband. Maybe you should make the most of what you've got."
