March 5th

"I made a complete fool of myself." Stephanie said sadly. Hunter sighed. "No you didn't."

"I cried like a baby!"

"That's to be expected. I mean, you thought she was dead! You spent nearly four years grieving for her. I don't have kids, so I can't imagine what it's like." He replied gently. Steph sniffed and wiped her eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring you down. You must be so happy with your win over Foley."

"Not really." Hunter confessed. Stephanie looked at him in surprise. "What?"

"Mick's a nice guy. Maybe too nice for this business. I honestly have a great deal of respect for the guy." He looked around. "First of all, you are not to tell anyone what I am about to tell you."

"Promise." She said curiously. Hunter sighed. "Mick came to me about 20 minutes before the match. Told me that he had no problem with the stipulations, in fact he was happy with the thought that if he lost, then he was out."

"You're kidding me?"

"Nope. Then he told me about how some of the things in his career had affected his family. The Last Man Standing and I Quit matches with The Rock. Hell in a Cell against the Undertaker. I was about to ask where he was going with all this, when he looked me straight in the eyes and said 'I can't put them through that anymore. It's either the job or my family. As much as I love this business, it's just a job. No matter what happens out there tonight, you're going to win.' I'll never forget the look in his eyes when he said that. Ever."

"Wow." Stephanie was stunned. She knew how much Mick loved wrestling... to give it all up for Colette and the kids.. for some reason she thought about that day Vince had come to the flat and demanded she come home. Would Chris have been willing to give up what she rightly guessed then would likely be a hugely successful career? She remembered the confrontation they'd had the night of Chris's debut.

//"You made your choice 3 years ago. You decided what would happen to us. You took that decision out of my hands. Well now I'm making a decision - get out of my sight Princess. Forget we ever happened."//

"You decided what would happen to us. You took that decision out of my hands." Stephanie's stomach twisted as she remembered the way he said it. She knew what he would've chosen if he'd had the chance to make the choice. It wasn't the same decision she'd made on his behalf.

"Stephanie? Are you ok honey?" Hunter's voice broke into her thoughts. Stephanie smiled at him. "Yeah, something just occured to me."

"A good something or a bad something?" He asked with concern. She sighed. "A 'How the hell did I not realise this earlier?' something."

"So a 'Chris Jericho' related something?"

"Exactly."

"I know I'm going to sound like Integra, but -"

"I need to tell him."

"He has a right to know."

"I know. Especially after the other day -"

"What happened the other day?" A voice from the doorway interrupted. Steph looked annoyed. "Don't you ever knock Teg?"

"Occasionally. Don't change the subject." She crossed her arms and looked at them sternly. "This has something to do with why you went rushing off in the middle of coffee isn't it?"

"Yes." Stephanie said quietly.

"Something to do with why you two got hitched?"

"Yeah." Hunter watched Stephanie carefully. If Integra pushed this further than Stephanie was willing to go, she was gonna get thrown out. Possibly literally. Integra sat on the coffee table and looked at Steph expectantly. "Well?"

With a look at Hunter, Stephanie informed her friend. "Hunter and I went and saw Sally Moroe last week."

"Sally Moroe?" Integra frowned for a second, then her jaw dropped. "Holy shit. What happened? What did you talk about? Did you get a picture? Tell me EVERYTHING!"

Stephanie recounted the trip to the Moroes. Much to Hunter & Stephanie's surprise - and her own - Integra remained silent throughout the entire retelling, even at the part where Daisy had given Stephanie a hug. When Steph had finished, Integra smiled, happy for her. "Who does she look like?"

"Her father." Hunter and Stephanie replied in unison and without hesisation. They looked at each other and laughed. Steph gestured for Hunter to speak.

"She's Jericho's child. All over. His hair, his eyes, his grin. Stephanie's jawline thank god. Steph's nose, mouth and ears. You should see her Teg." Hunter replied, smiling. "She's the cutest little thing."

"I'd love to see her."

"Did Sally end up giving you a photo?" Hunter asked. Towards the end of the visit, he'd gone out to the car in order to give Sally, Stephanie and Daisy some time alone. Stephanie nodded as she pulled out an envelope. "Have a look at these."

Integra slid some photos out of the envelope. "Oh my god! She's beautiful! Look at her! Oh my god." She smiled slyly. "What does Chris think?"

"Um, well.." Stephanie shifted uncomfortably. "He, uh, hasn't exactly seen them yet."

"Why not?"

"Because.." Steph looked at Hunter for help. His answer was matter of fact. "Because Jericho doesn't know yet."

"Why not?" Integra repeated.

"Because I haven't told him."

"Steph.." She sounded exasperated. Stephanie rolled her eyes. "Teg?"

"*Why* haven't you told him?"

Hunter sensed Stephanie's growing distress and came to her rescue. "Christ, who have we got here? You sound exactly like Lydia. Next thing you'll be threatening to tell Jericho yourself."

"Well maybe Lydia's bluntness and habit of blackmail is what's needed right now. You've got to admit, she gets the job done, no matter who she pisses off in the process." Integra replied with a shrug. Stephanie's jaw dropped. "Was that a threat?"

"What? No!" exclaimed Integra. Hunter glared at her. "Are you sure?"

"Yes! Shit, guilty concience much?"

"Ok, that's it, get out." Hunter motioned at the door. Integra's jaw dropped. "What?"

She looked at Stephanie in astonishment. "Are you gonna let him throw me out?"

"I'll talk to you later Teg, I just don't need this right now." Steph said with a sigh. With an irritated mutter, Integra stalked off. Hunter hugged Stephanie. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm fine." She sighed. "I'm mainly annoyed because I know she's right. I have to tell him. It's not fair otherwise."

Hunter waited, knowing that Stephanie hadn't quite finished.

"Once upon time, we loved each other very much. I made a choice, looking back I know I made the wrong choice. Before I got engaged to Andrew, I told Chris about our daughter, believing then that she had died. He didn't seem react, but I know him and he took the news badly. I've broken his heart twice already in this lifetime and I don't think I'm brave enough to tell him that the second time was a lie."

"But it wasn't!" Hunter protested. "It was what you knew to be true at the time! You told him what you thought was the truth. You didn't lie to him about it."

"I know that and you know that." Stephanie sat down on the bed. "But he doesn't know that."
