[Gavroche, Eponine, Montparnasse, Enjolras, R: Laura Waterstripe]
[Javert, Myriel: Dessa Asp]
[Marie: Oh, dear, what _is_ his name?]
[Everything with an asterisk is Out Of Character, and they're only the selected bits I (Laura) couldn't bear to leave out]

It was a dark and stormy night.
The real denizens of the underworld were prowling through Paris. And Javert, too.
Gavroche skips along the street whistling a merry tune, on the way home to take a nap.
Montparnasse, a lad of 16, lurks in the shadows and keeps an eye on Gavroche.
Enjolras and his comrades, er, comrade, talk late into the night about nothing and drink too much absinthe.
Revolution lurks on the horizon. (There was one that year, you know.)
Gavroche * emeute (riot) anyhow.
Marie carries a bowl of holy water, on the way to visit a sick baby.
Gavroche says, "Then my feet took off, and my legs went too, and my body was obliged to follow, me with my mouth and my hands full of cress, and my throat too dry to swallow."
Javert walks slowly along the street, tired, sick, and starving. He wonders how he got out here to the streets, out of the clutches of that crazy priest... he vaguely remembers flying... a hallucination? Another effect of this disease?
Gavroche skips along, singing.
Montparnasse considers knocking off the crazed policeman while he has the chance.
Enjolras staggers home from a certain flat in the Rue des Gres, his shirt buttoned wrong.
Marie carries a bowl of holy water, on the way to visit a sick baby. She seems moderately distracted, probably thinking about sharing God's Love with the babe's father... or maybe mother... or both.
Grantaire wanders after Enjolras to make sure he gets home safely.
Javert is scared. Terrified. How long has it been since he's admitted that to himself? The sound of all these people walking around annoys him greatly. But he can't stop walking... can't do anything, but go, go in a straight line, like the whole of his life... or, heaven only knows what might go wrong.
Thenardier prowls.
Montparnasse and Thenardier have a whispered conversation, Thenardier pushes Eponine into from the daddy's arms into the dandy's, and goes on his way. Parnasse and Eponine go off in a different direction.
Gavroche sings louder as he catches sight of Parnasse and some grisette.
Javert screams inwardly... too many people... too many... why don't they just go away? Can't they tell what danger they're in?
Gavroche heads straight for M. le Inspector, watching 'Ponine and 'Parnasse instead of where he's going.
Marie becomes idly distracted by a sexy man walking ahead of her... "Those sideburns..." She shivers, as if cold, and continues walking behind him.
Gavroche walks nearly backwards, trying to see where P&P are headed.
Javert isn't watching where he's going either, and soon collides with the boy. Taking a step back, he shouts, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" Probably louder than he'd wanted to, and he shoves the boy away from him. "GO HOME!!!" He trembles.
Gavroche, taken aback, for once, gapes for a second. "Relax, Monsieur. Go to sleep. You'll feel better in the morning."
Enjolras, trailed by R, staggers by up at the corner of the street.
'Parnasse leads Eponine away, out of sight.
Marie notices the trouble ahead of her. She stops, and as curiosity gets the better of her, she takes a few slow steps forward, the holy water sloshing gently in her bowl.
Javert turns around quickly to glare at the woman behind him, "WHAT do YOU want?" He turns back to the boy. "You aren't... telling me what to do. No."
Gavroche hums again, and heads off down the cul-de-sac, then realizes that he turned into it while watching his sister, then says, "Just friendly advice, Monsieur. Wait. You're an Inspector, aren't you?" He backs off quickly.
Javert scowls rather fiercely, "Yeah, what the hell's the matter with that?" Jeez... wrong time of the month, eh?
Marie looks at Javert, "Oh, that's right.. It's Inspector Javert, isn't it?" Then, more quietly, "I thought I recognized that walk of yours..."
Gavroche says, "Oh, bite me, Inspector."
Gavroche prepares to flee.
Javert gesticulates wildly in the air for a few seconds. You're not sure what it means, until he settles his hands over his ears in a manner signifying, "I'm sick of hearing your voice. Shut up." "Just..." he says, "Get."
Gavroche says, "Are you sick?" He stares at the Inspector instead of running. "I just said, 'Bite me' to Inspector Javert!" he marvels. "And I'm not dead. Wow."
Gavroche forgets about running.
Javert looks to the boy, and, at his words, actually begins to cry. Quietly, almost dignifiedly, not sobbing or bawling or anything, just... crying. Softly. Sadly. Red tracks are left down his face as he does. Seem strange to anyone?
Marie looks a little concerned, "I was on the way to deliver some holy water to a sick babe. Perhaps a sip of the holy water would help you, no? The babe surely won't miss a little sip of it."
Grantaire stumbles past the end of the street, pursuing Enjolras.
Javert coughs. "No." he says, softly, and turns away, resuming his course.
Gavroche stares at Javert. "'Parnasse!" he yells, "the Inspector's sick!"
Montparnasse, trailed by Eponine, comes back into the cul-de-sac, weapon ready.
Javert stares down at the ground. "Yes. Very, very sick."
Gavroche follows Javert, unafraid.
Marie follows after Javert, just after the stinky gamin. She would be closer, however the boy has a bit of an odor.
Gavroche * Hey!
Gavroche * so do you, Sister Smelly.
Javert continues walking up out of the cul-de-sac slowly. It doesn't appear that it would be too hard to stop him.
Gavroche * why should we stop him?
Marie * Because he's cute?
Montparnasse, armed with a knife, steps out in front of Javert. "Inspector Javert?"
Javert looks up from the ground. "Yes, Montparnasse?"
Marie became distracted again, and in rushing to catch up, trips, causing the bowl of holy water to arch gracefully into the air headed toward Gavroche.
Gavroche receives an unpleasant bath.
Parnasse twirls the knife into view just before attempting to slice open Javert with it. "Good evening."
Javert looks for an instant at the assassin's jugular and whimpers softly with an urge of unpleasant desire. At the *splash* he turns around to see what had happened. He catches a knife in the side. It doesn't seem to bother him much.
Gavroche says, "What was that?"
Gavroche splutters and looks at the impaled Inspector.
Marie rushes toward Gavroche to retrieve her bowl. "I'm sorry about that.. That was headed toward a sick lil' babe." She looks upset. She eyes what's happening in front of her. Her mouth opens, and she takes a step back.
Montparnasse takes this opportunity to run.
Eponine, confused, not seeing what happened, yells, "'Parnasse, wait!" and chases after him.
Javert flies (or something close to that, more like running though, but not quite) and stands in front of Parnasse. "Wait... hold on." He seems completely unopposing in manner, yet something about him tells you Montparnasse isn't going... anywhere.
Eponine pauses, looks up at Javert, and turns again, sees her dearest little brother, and hides her face, trying to figure out everything.
Javert pats a hand on Parnasse's shoulder, and holds his knife out to him, covered in blood. "You... you forgot this."
Montparnasse, his hand shaking, reaches out to take the knife, staring at Javert's face.
Gavroche walks over to Eponine, dripping with holy water. "What's going on, 'Ponine?"
Javert hands Montparnasse the knife. Rather forcibly. The poor boy now has a nasty cut on the palm of his hand. "Oh... dear." he comments.
Eponine, staring at Parnasse and Javert, says, "The Inspector is saving me from Montparnasse." She calls out louder, in her hoarse voice, "Bless you, Monsieur Inspector!
Javert says, "Here... Don't fret... We'll take care of that... fix it right up."
Montparnasse flinches and tries to cover the wound, dropping the knife.
Gavroche says, "Are you mad, 'Ponine? The Inspector...'Parnasse stabbed him. He should be lying on the ground, not slicing open 'Parnasse's hand."
Gavroche says, "Come on, 'Ponine, let's go."
Javert reaches out a hand to grab Parnasse's. "Don't you fret. I'm not angry."
Eponine doesn't move. "No. I want to see this."
Montparnasse struggles.
Parnasse yells, "Let me go, demon!"
Javert mumbles to himself, "Demon... oh dear, not the first time i've been called that... perhaps the first time it's been true..." Then out loud. "Hush, now, it'll be all right." he speaks soothingly.
Eponine says, half to herself, but loud enough for Javert to hear, if he can hear anything now, "No, Monsieur, you are an avenging angel. You saved me!"
Montparnasse, trapped, with Eponine cheering on his adversary, tries to kick Javert.
Marie closes her mouth, as a bug tries to fly in to it.
Gavroche says, "Ponine! You're mad, too."
Gavroche * bite Ponine. she'll love you for it.
Javert is kicked. He steps back, once, with the force of it, but doesn't let go. "Would you...!" he pauses, "calm down? Please?" He smiles amusedly at the little girl calling him an angel.
Eponine claps her hands. "Kill him, Monsieur Angel, please. He doesn't deserve to live."
Gavroche * I love Parnasse. he dies so well. kill him.
Gavroche listens amazed. "Ponine! No..."
Montparnasse gets really frightened listening to Eponine. "No, no, she's a mad child, let me go, Inspector, Please, Please!"
Javert listens to both of these people, trying to think straight. "Well... you are, a very unruly lad."
Gavroche says, "Eponine, we must go."
Gavroche tries to drag off his big sister.
Eponine stands firm, pushing off Gavroche's hands. "Go on, Inspector."
Montparnasse says, "I'll be a good boy. I promise!"
Javert frowns, and gives up trying to figure out what would be the best thing to do. He takes the boy's hand to his mouth and licks at the wound, testing it. Oh, yes, it's very delightful, indeed.
Gavroche shudders and looks away.
Eponine applauds. "Go on, go on!"
Montparnasse screams. "What are you doing to me, madman?"
Marie turns ashen watching this. Deciding she must at least shoo some of them away, she walks up to Gavroche and Eponine and tries to show them away. "Go on home, children. There's nothing to see." She says this while hoping to god there really wasn't anything to see.
Javert looks at Parnasse's face, and shrugs. "Sorry." He does sound /genuinely/ sorry.
Gavroche says, "I'm not leaving without 'Ponine."
Eponine doesn't even hear Marie. "Don't be sorry, Inspector. Kill him, please, finish it."
Montparnasse, utterly white in the face, faints.
Marie says "Go on Ponine. Leave with the lad. You two should leave." She eyes the handsome inspector nervously and shakes her head.
Eponine cheers.
Javert drinks from the hand. It's slow going... the wound was not all that deep, no major blood vessels were hit. But he does feel better. He kneels down by the fainted body.
Eponine, enchanted, walks toward the fainted Montparnasse and Javert.
Gavroche says, "No, come back, 'Ponine!"
Gavroche tries to hold Eponine back again, and is rebuffed again.
Javert is entirely enwrapped in the meal, and he doesn't seem to notice her approaching. Or much of anything anymore.
Marie walks up to Eponine to get her away from the scene. She grabs her, "Come on 'Ponine, you shouldn't watch this."
Eponine kneels by Javert, watching, unable to look away. She brushes off Marie absentmindedly. "It's okay, the Inspector is here."
Marie makes a sort of helpless noise, and backs away from Eppie and Javvie, fearful of what may occur.
Gavroche stands like a statue, not going to leave 'Ponine, but unable to force himself any closer.
Javert drinks until the blood starts not to come at his urging it... He stands up slowly, dropping the hand, and smiles quietly. He takes his index and middle finger of his right hand, and rubs the corner of his mouth, spreading a drop of blood that had remained there in a streak across his face. As his fingers leave his cheek, he regards them oddly, as if they were not his own. He spots the blood upon them and his eyes grow wide. He looks down to the body on the ground and stumbles backward in shock. "Oh dear lord!" is all he can manage to utter. Purely an exclamation, of course...
Eponine watches Javert. "Monsieur...You saved me." She says it again, then stands up and kisses his cheek, ignoring the prickling of the sideburns.
Marie * thinks it might be interesting if Javvie accidentally bumped in to the holy water soaked Gavvie.
Gavroche* No.
Marie * supposes the holy water dried up by now, anyway.
Gavroche * prolly. how long does it take to suck dry a thin teenage boy?
Javert frowns down at Eponine and pushes her away, disgusted both at the dead body at his feet and the dirty girl kissing him. "Who the hell are you?"
Marie * has never sucked a teenage boy.
Marie * does not know.
Gavroche * Good lord.
Eponine, still entranced by Javert, says, "I am Eponine. You saved me from Montparnasse. I owe you my life, Inspector. Please. I want to repay you, somehow."
Eponine reaches out to touch Javert's coat like a peasant brushing the hem of a king's gown.
Javert looks down. "Montparnasse. Right. Must have been a reason, that's it." He looks at Eponine. "Well... that's... what I'm here for." He diverts her hands away from him discreetly. "Go, now, I'll see that this is taken care of."
Gavroche says, "Yes, yes, let's go!"
Javert looks around at Gavroche and Marie. "About your business, now, nothing to gawk at here."
Eponine keeps watching Javert. "No. My father...my father sold me to 'Parnasse. And you saved me. I owe you my life, Inspector."
Marie nods to Javert nervously, and obeys him quickly. She looks to the children, and deciding the Lord should protect them, as she can do nothing more, she scurries off away.
Javert puts on his gloves and wipes his face. He regards Eponine oddly. "Go. On with you, now." He calls to Marie as she leaves. "You, there, call a fiacre and send it here, for me." He'd better get this one back to the station. (montparnasse)
Eponine makes an attempt to grab Javert's arm. "No! I cannot leave you."
Javert stays still, and his arm is grabbed. "Why on earth not?"
Gavroche says, "Good question!"
Eponine, dazed, clings to Javert's arm. "I owe you my life, Monsieur Inspector," she says, speaking slowly as if he was retarded. "Can't you understand that? I can't just go on home, I don't have a home, and you saved me. So I cannot let you just walk away."
After a few minutes more, a fiacre approaches. Marie apparently did as she was requested.
Javert frowns, and appraises the situation out loud. "Your father sold you to a criminal, who was then... apprehended... in a manner of speaking. Very well, you will come with me, we will find you a shelter to live in until you can support yourself." He thinks that's right, isn't it?
Eponine smiles radiantly. "Oh, thank you, Monsieur!"
Gavroche escapes before Eponine decides he should live in a poorhouse too, not that he thinks M. le Inspector will put his sister there. He knows her too well.
Javert looks relieved as the fiacre comes. He opens the door and loads the body in. Frowning at the enthusiasm of the girl, he mutters, "Get in."
Javert * knows her too well? *blink*
Eponine, still smiling and staring at Javert, climbs in.
Gavroche * cough cough naughty Eppie cough Lolita cough cough.
Javert * lolita???
Marie * Javert.. There's a movie (based on a play I think, or something) about a middle aged man who falls in love with a 13 year old girl.
Gavroche * Oh, just bite her. She can bite Enjy. Enjy can bite R, and Jolllly. Then Jolllly will never get sick again.
Gavroche *ooh, she's even the right age. I am so smart.
Javert * laughs... like Javvie dearest would drop to something so base. ;)
Gavroche * And Enjy and R and Eppie can live, er, whatever, happily ever after.
Gavroche * Um. he's just gonna bite her. She can try, though.
Javert * "The Virgin Detective" remember? ;)
Gavroche * So? Eppie has her ways.
Javert sighs and steps into the fiacre, silently swearing to himself that he'll never let this disease catch hold of him like that again. Of course, he swore that after the doctor, too... but this time he /means/ it. /really/.
Eponine watches Javert.
Javert tells the driver to take them to the post of the RDP, and sits in silence.
Eponine says, "Inspector? Thank you."
Javert * dear lord... where's that Marius fellow. I need to scrape Eppie off on someone. ;)
Eponine reaches out to try to touch Javert again, unconscious of what she is doing.
Javert * The Anorexic Vampire ;)
Eponine says, "You took care of 'Parnasse, right enough."
Javert bats away Ponine's hand gently, not responding.
Eponine says, "I've never seen anyone kill that way before."
Javert scowls. "Be silent."
Eponine doesn't hear. "You were so beautiful."
Eponine says, "You killed him. You were beautiful."
The carriage comes to a halt, and Javert calmly steps down from it, reaching in to drag out the corpse after him. He doesn't speak to her.
Eponine jumps out after the corpse, still watching Javert.
Javert carries it into the police post, unceremoniously dropping it in a corner, and going to write down the events of the "arrest", simplified, of course.
Eponine follows like a lost puppy.
Eponine says, "Inspector?"
Javert doesn't look up from the paper. "What?" he asks roughly.
Eponine * whatever Eppie wants, Eppie gets, and little cop, little Eppie wants You.
Eponine says, "Why did you kill him that way? Instead of shooting him?"
Javert stands up and blows on the paper impatiently to dry the ink. "That is of no concern to you."
Eponine says, "But..."
Eponine says, "It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
Eponine says, "Please, Monsieur..."
Javert says, "It doesn't matter if it was a sign of the coming judgement day," metaphorically speaking of course, "It's no concern of yours." He slides the paper in a desk drawer and strides toward the door of the post again.
Eponine says, "Wait!"
Javert opens the door for Ponine to go out.
Eponine says, "Are you coming with me?"
Javert says, "As far as the fiacre." gesturing out to the carriage.
Eponine says, "No."
Eponine embraces Javert impetuously.
Javert tries to gently dislodge Eponine from himself.
Eponine says, "I won't let you go."
Javert says, "I'm not going anywhere. You're the one leaving, girl."
Eponine says, "No."
Javert growls softly and ends all attempts to be gentle, tearing Ponine away from himself. "You are." He informs her.
Eponine sits down on the floor obstinately.
Eponine says, "Don't make me. I can help you."
Javert scowls, and deftly lifts Ponine off the floor, beginning to carry her toward the fiacre. "You can't help."
Eponine says, "Yes, yes, I can read and write, I can help!"
Javert no less than tosses Eponine in the fiacre and directs the driver to go to the homeless shelter.
Eponine * okay, days pass.
Javert thinks, >>> oh, god, no... i'm not going to give in to this again... this is... bad. <<<
Eponine walks down the Rue du Pontoise.
Javert lies down on the roof, staring at the sky, trying not to move. Yes. Staying still is good.
Eponine walks into the post, looking for Javert, then out again when they tell her he is not in.
Myriel strides down the street. He must look odd, decked out how he is, with crosses and holy water and garlic and large wooden spikes. He enters the post, evidently for the same purpose as Ponine. Though not quite. He comes out again, looking frustrated.
Eponine says, "Good evening, Monsieur."
Eponine sits down on a doorstep across the street from the post, sighing.
Eponine * I Still think you should kiss her, Javvie.
Myriel looks at the girl, concerned, as always, and looking to give a helping hand if it's needed. "What's wrong, mademoiselle?"
Javert * but, but, she's a girl... and girls got cooties.
Eponine says, "Nothing."
So you're both very surprised, right, when Javert falls out of the sky and lands with a nauseating *crack-crunch* on the ground?
Eponine screams. "Inspector!" She runs to him.
Myriel looks shocked.
Eponine says, "Oh dear, oh no, what has happened to you?"
Javert turns around and sits up, twisted a bit, but otherwise well. "Hell. Nothing, evidently." He looks around slowly, and by the time he's done all the bones seem to have set in their rightful places.
Eponine smiles. "Good. My mother always said, well, when I was young, that this would make everything better." She gives Javert a kiss. A real kiss. No thimbles involved.
Javert is still a little shaken from the tumble, so he just sits there, immobile, and lets himself be kissed without a thimble (???). He frowns disinterestedly.
Eponine * Peter Pan, Javvie. thimbles=kisses. but she Really kissed him.
Eponine embraces Javert. "Everything is fine now," she says to M. Myriel.
Myriel frowns. "No, no... I'm afraid not." He approaches a bit.
Javert looks up. "Oh. It's you, again."
Myriel says, "Yes."
Eponine says, "No!"
Eponine says, "Stay away from the Inspector. He is all I have in the world."
Javert shuts his eyes. "I should have listened to you before... this... this is not a good thing to be happening."
Eponine holds Javert to her flat breast. "I can take care of him. It'll be all right."
Myriel repeats, "I'm afraid not..." he looks concerned. "Do you know what it is?"
Eponine says, "He's an angel."
Eponine says, "Leave him alone!"
Eponine draws a knife from her ragged clothing.
Myriel says, "It's a demon, mademoiselle. You wouldn't leave a demon loose, would you?"
Eponine says, "No. He's an angel."
Eponine wraps her arms around Javert's neck and holds him close.
Javert unwraps the girls arms from around him. "I'm not, you know. I was... once."
Eponine grabs Javert again, tenaciously. "No. You saved me three nights ago, and I will not forget it."
Javert sighs. "You should. I didn't... I don't... care about you at all. All I thought of was myself. You had nothing to do with it."
Eponine says, "I don't believe that."
Eponine kisses Javert again.
Eponine * oh dear, and Marius the Troubled, Adolescent, Family-Oriented Vampire Slayer.
Javert listens to her breath as she kisses him, and opens his eyes to see her neck there, and shut them again. He stumbles to his feet, pushing her off of him a little too harshly. "No..." he protests deeply. He looks at Myriel. "Help her, will you???"
Eponine says, "Get up, Inspector, please."
Eponine tries to help Javert to his feet.
Eponine tries to pull Javert towards the Post. "Let's go in, Inspector. You had a hard fall, you should rest."
Myriel steps in between the two and takes Ponine's arm gently.
Eponine says, "Let me go!"
Eponine says, "Inspector, help me. I only want to be free."
Myriel says, "It'll be better off in the long run... trust me..."
Eponine says, "No!"
Javert says, "Who's saying you won't?"
Eponine says, "But Inspector..."
Javert says, "But, what?"
Eponine says, "Will you hurt him, Monsieur?" to M. Myriel. "Promise you won't hurt him."
Marie appears rushing down the street, she notices Myriel apparently trying to haul a young girl away from what might be her father or something. She decides to help...
Myriel says, "Why... I don't know... I've never stopped to ask if it hurts much."
Eponine struggles harder and kicks M. Myriel.
Myriel is kicked. He releases the girl out of reflex.
Eponine tries her best to drag Javert into the Post. "Monsieur Delphax! Help me!"
Marie gives M. Myriel a good wallop to the back of his head. "You shouldn't be attacking girls! You told me you stopped doing that!"
Myriel blinks and turns around at being walloped. "Excuse me... do I... know you?"
Eponine drags with all of her might.
Javert begins to drool nasty red frothy looking stuff. "Argg... Girl, leave, now. Please? I'm asking you."
Marie looks aghast. "Oh, so now you don't even remember me? After taking me to your special place when I was 12? It was you who first showed me God's Love! You said it was all consensual now. Liar!"
Eponine says, "I'm not afraid of you, Inspector."
Eponine * can I get you into the post, please, Javvie?
Javert * CRACKS UP... god's love... Oh... fine.
Eponine *YAY! Bite me, baby!
Myriel blinks. "Marie?" He looks stunned for a moment.
Eponine slams the door of the Post behind them.
Marie slaps Myriel.
Myriel erms. "Fine, yes, but that's..." He looks over at the slamming of the door. "Oh dear." He looks panicked. "We've got to help her."
Marie still looks irate, "Help her? How?"
Eponine says, "Inspector. That madman will kill you. we must go somewhere safe."
Javert trembles slightly inside the post. "It's... but... I..." He can't seem to put a coherent thought together.
Eponine embraces Javert again. "It's all right. Just relax."
Javert gives up, already, and grabs the girl off the ground, standing her on a chair so she's just a little taller than he is.
Eponine looks down at Javert with only a little fright in her eyes. "What are you doing?"
Myriel throws Marie a wooden stake, and heads for the door.
Javert mumbles, "Nothing..." and bites fiercely into her jugular.
Marie looks at the stake, "This isn't another one of your kinky sex games is it, Myriel?"
Eponine says, "Oh dear," not altogether unhappily. "Inspector..."
Myriel looks back. "No! It's a demon in there!"
Marie looks to Myriel, "Are you talking about in your pants again?"
Javert drinks quickly, can't think of anything else right now. Might have said something, just the man's only got one mouth, after all.
Myriel frowns. "No! In the building!"
Eponine sighs and holds on to Javert, her grasp gradually weakening.
Marie looks oddly at Myriel, "What sort of demon needs a stake? A vampire?"
Javert is disappointed as the blood flows weaker, and he slowly pulls down on her shoulders, letting his pal gravity give him a hand with those hard-to-reach drops.
Myriel says, "Exactly..."
Eponine slumps, unconscious.
Marie looks to Myriel, "Who's the vampire?"
Javert keeps drinking after she's become unconscious, for a while. Then he stands up straight, again, and lets her go, letting her body topple down off the chair to a pile on the ground. "Oh, hell." he comments. He thought he wasn't going to do that again.
Marie looks again to Myriel apparently quite confused, "There's a vampire in the police station? When did that happen? We should go in and warn Inspector Javert!"
Myriel holds his face in his hands.
Javert frowns down at the little girl who called him and angel and kissed him without a thimble. Feeling pretty groovy having just had such a feast, he leans down, lifts the girl by the neck, and returns the favor, a bit sloppily, so that some of the bloody froth that had spilled from his mouth earlier enters her own. He doesn't even notice. He lifts up the girl, and takes her away to put her with the doctor and Montparnasse.
Eponine twitches in Javert's arms, then bites his neck.
Javert blinks. "Hey... what the...?" It's not like it hurts or anything, it's just disturbing, with him having thought her dead.
Eponine takes some of her blood back from Javert.
Eponine lets Javert go, eventually, and stretches languorously in his arms.
Eponine says, "You can put me down now. I can walk."
Javert grumbles slightly, feeling that nagging itch to feed again creeping up on his way too early. He sets her down on the stairs. "What happened?" He asks simply.
Eponine says, "I think you gave me your disease."
Eponine kisses Javert again. Eventually, she says, "Thanks."
Eponine runs her tongue over her brand new fangs. "Mmm. I'm hungry."
Javert pushes her away irritably. "Just... don't do that any more, please. Yah, don't thank me yet, thank me after you see what a hellish curse this is." He rubs his eyes tiredly. The light will be out soon. It stings his eyes so badly...
Eponine says, "Where can we go to get food?"
Javert shrugs. "I don't know. You all seemed to come to me." He indicates the two dead bodies on the floor.
Javert looks at Eponine. "Want to know a trick I found, though?"
Eponine says, "What?"
Javert moves over to a corner and loosens a panel, climbing up onto the roof of the building.
Eponine follows.
Javert helps her to stand evenly on the roof, then he tells her, "Fly away."
Eponine says, "What?"
Javert looks for words to try to explain. Can't find them. "Just, do it. Go, and fly away." *noises from below of angry bishop might help you*
Eponine thinks hard and starts floating.
Eponine says, "Wow."
Javert hears the bishop coming up the stairs, and replaces the panel.
