Controversy? When I first saw Haruka and Michiru I always figured they were "together" but as I surf through the web I see alot of sites (ie: Haruka and Michiru Forever and Haruka and Michiru Are Lovers) that exist to prove to people that the two are indeed in love. I never actually thought they were, so if you have any doubts, visit some of the "proof" sites.
They metHaruka and Michiru are introduced by their friend, Elza Gray, after a track meet. Michiru, knowing Haruka is Uranus, speaks with her, and though Haruka realizes this, she remains uncooperative, refusing to accept her past and the duties that accompany them in the present. Michiru asks Haruka if the girl will pose for her pictures, but Haruka says she's uninterested and "passes". Later on, while on a cruise ship, they meet again. Michiru performs a violin solo on and which Haruka is a guest aboard. Haruka comes across a painting Michiru did called "The End of the World" on her way below deck. Michiru speaks to her there, telling Haruka that what the painting depicts is not from her imagination but a real warning of what the future will be if Haruka does not help her prevent it from occuring. Haruka refuses again to accept her past, telling Michiru to do it as she wants to focus on racing. Michiru angrily retorts that she too doesn't want her duties, as she wants to become a violinist. Therefore, as much as Michiru wants Haruka to accept her past and her mission to save the world, she herself is also partially torn by conflict. Upon learning about Haruka, she is immediately attracted to the girl, and she seems to have an understanding of the other that even Haruka doesn't have of herself. On the cruise ship, Michiru admits to Haruka that there is someone who in her school who wants to ride with Haruka in her car, (reffering to herself, showing her desire to be with Haruka). Because of this, um, LOVE attraction, when Haruka is attacked in a garage by a daimon, and her henshin stick (makeup wand) appears to save her, Michiru stops her from touching it, and warns her that if she picks it up, her life will never be the same again. Then she transforms into Sailor Neptune to attack the monster. As Neptune is about to finish it off, Haruka stops her, saying that the monster is actually a possessed boy. Neptune says that if she doesn't kill the monster, it will hurt other people in defence of her actions as Haruka angrily questions that belief. When the monster recovers, it goes for Haruka, but Neptune pushes Haruka away, getting hurt in the process. Neptune then uses Deep Submerge on the monster, and it turns back into the boy. As Haruka leans against the wall and examines her arm, perplexed by the senshi's actions as she could have badly injured herself and might have never played the violin again, Neptune admits her feelings. She tells her that she was happy that Haruka was her partner, and that she wants to ride with Haruka in her car. She then says sorry for telling Haruka her thoughts, because she didn't want to tell them to her. However, as a result of this, Haruka finally accepts her past and destiny to be Sailor Uranus. BwaUnlike the inners scouts, Haruka and Michiru don't appear NEARLY as much. First, they come off as evil scouts, then still stay to themselves. In the Sailormoon SuperS season, they only appear twice. I don't really get it. I don't know why the outer scouts don't seem to be as important, just because they didn't show up sooner. The outers are kind of an odd bunch anyway... |
