Words and terms that are unique to
Quezon Province, or with a different meaning in Manila
and other Tagalog-speaking areas, were entered in this
vocabulary. This list centered on words used not only in
Quezon in general but in Pagbilao in particular. It is a
fact that each town has home-grown terms, like Pagbilao's "borombom",
"abi" and "gaman". Words or terms used in towns other than Pagbilao were also listed and
identified as such. On the other hand, words derived from
other regions like Visayas and Bicol were also indicated.
For example, "pasayan" is a Visayan word used
in Quezon but NOT commonly known in Manila. |
